About this property

Ruthin 2.6 miles. Nestled a few miles from Ruthin, is this spacious, single-storey cottage, Coedfan. Well-presented throughout, this inviting retreat welcomes families looking to come together and explore this charming part of Denbighshire. Step inside and make yourself at home in the lounge, complete with a large sofa, armchair, woodburning stove, Smart TV and surround sound speaker system, providing a superb setup for movie nights. Move into the kitchen, where the house chef can impress with a hearty dish, with the help of the electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and there’s a dishwasher for cleaning up! Gather together in the dining room and enjoy each other's company before breaking off to the games room for some friendly competition; there’s table football, pool and air hockey to have fun with! As the evening comes to a close, retire to the bedrooms to catch-up on your rest, with the master hosting a king-size with en-suite shower, whilst there is also a king-size and a twin to choose from, each neutrally finished. Head outside and take advantage of the patio space, enjoying a favourite tipple as you appreciate the surrounding views. From the door there are several footpaths leading to Ruthin where you can visit the historic goal and castle, or browse the shops and enjoy the tea rooms, a perfect treat after a long ramble. Head out on a day trip to Llyn Brenig or venture to the North Wales coastline and find plenty of walking and cycling trails, there’s even some sandy beaches! If you fancy a change of scenery, the Roman city of Chester is just a short drive away, boasting a great selection of shops, restaurants and history to keep all entertained. Choose Coedfan for a rural break to the North Wales area.

North of Llangollen, over the magnificent Horseshoe Pass, is the mountain town of Ruthin. The town's charming half-timbered buildings are primarily gathered around St. Peter's Plaza. The Ruthin Prison, Nant Clwyd House (the oldest timber frame in Wales), and Ruthin Craft Center, which displays the creations of well-known worldwide artists and crafters, are all worth a visit. Ruthin is surrounded by gorgeous countryside thanks to Lake Brenig, Moel Famau Country Park, and Clocaenog Forest. The seaside, Snowdonia National Park, and old Chester are further away but still easily accessible for day trips.

Things in the house were easy to use with instructions for use. The kitchen was well equipped with other necessary items in a cupboard. There was also outside furniture. The owner was in touch for any questions and she was so helpful. The house was a great base for visiting North Wales. It was a truly delightful stay.

Lovely house. Well equipped. Very comfortable with everything you need. Good location also - Ruthin only 5 mins drive away with lots of nice cafes, takeaways, shops & museums. I especially liked nantclwyd y dre historic house museum & walking around the castle grounds with the peacocks.

Our whole holiday was ruined by lack of swift action by the owners in removing a wasps nest that was by the main entrance steps and which I reported with a few hours of us arriving. Nothing was done about this until the Wednesday 6 days into our holiday, after repeatedly contacting the owners. Unable to sit outside at the rear patio where all the views are due to number of wasps and unable to open any rear windows. Sleep was disturbed due to wasps making nest in walls. Outside bins were full when we arrived on the Friday and were not emptied by owners until Tue. Had to get rid of rubbish myself! Hoover was full of dirt and dust when we went to use it and there was no dust pan or brush to clean any crumbs up etc. Bitterly disappointed with this holiday and attitude of owners who failed to ensure the property was ready to let out and failed to act swiftly to make sure our holiday wasn't ruined.....it most definitely was.
