Pen y Parc is a well-received cottage in North Wales, praised for its cleanliness, peaceful location, and well-equipped facilities. Guests appreciate the welcoming hosts, the beautiful garden, and the proximity to a friendly local pub. The property offers a comfortable stay with a conservatory and scenic views, making it an ideal base for exploring the area.
The cottage consistently receives high praise for its cleanliness, with multiple reviews highlighting its tidy and well-maintained condition. One isolated complaint about a bed's comfort does not detract significantly from the overall perception of cleanliness.
The location is frequently described as peaceful, with stunning scenery and a good base for exploring North Wales. The proximity to a local pub and the quiet village setting contribute to the positive feedback. The views and local walks are also appreciated.
Comfort is generally rated highly, with mentions of comfortable seating, beds, and a cosy atmosphere. However, there is a mention of an uncomfortable bed and steep stairs, which suggests some room for improvement in this category.
Facilities are well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and spacious areas like the conservatory and garden. Maintenance appears to be good, although one review mentions a smell from the oil tank, indicating a possible issue that may need attention.

An attractive, 18th century, stone-built cottage, occupying a quiet position in the pretty village of Gwaenysgor, just two miles from Prestatyn. This restful and calm, semi-detached property is decorated and furnished in a traditional cottage style and features exposed stone walls and beams, a welcoming sitting room, two bedrooms and a tranquil garden, ideal for a relaxing evening drink. The hillside village of Gwaenysgor boasts spectacular rural and coastal views and an excellent pub, whilst pretty coastal walks can be enjoyed within easy walking distance. The popular seaside resort of Prestatyn is two miles away, offering superb fishing and watersports, while Colwyn Bay's fantastic Mountain Zoo, Llandudno's Victorian promenades and the breathtaking Snowdonian landscape are not to be missed. An ideal base for touring North Wales, any time of year.
Set on the side of a hill in the quiet North Wales countryside, the tiny village of Gwaenysgor is situated within the Clwydian Hill Range, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The summit is a mere quarter of a mile away and provides a wonderful panoramic view over the countryside and coast. With a very good pub, the village is well placed for joining the Offa's Dyke National Trail, which lies within a few minutes walk. The beaches at Prestatyn offer a safe spot for family fun on the sand as well as those looking for a place to try various water sports. There are also a number of lovely walks through the pretty countryside as well as four excellent golf courses, a leisure centre, the Mountain Zoo at Colwyn Bay and the Victorian resort of Llandudno – all waiting to be explored.
