However, the property was not ready for me when I arrived after the check in time and I found several instances of mould around the property (including in the saucepans) which I took photos of and am happy to provide. The only major issue I had with the property was the bathroom situation. The advertisement made it seem like the bathroom was a lot closer than it actually was. As a young woman on my own, I wasn’t very comfortable using the bathroom after dark as it was a good minute walk from the Shepard’s hut. Additionally, the bathroom wasn’t clean. There was rubbish left by the previous visitors in the bin still. The sink was covered in dirt and debris. There were spiders everywhere. On the first day there, there was one woodlouse in the sink. As the days when on, the number of woodlice increased dramatically. Especially when it was dark. With this bathroom being a washroom, I wasn’t comfortable using the shower at all. It had been overrunning by spiders and I wasn’t comfortable standing in there bare foot with all the bugs. There was also only three sheets of toilet paper left on the roll when I arrived. I tried to find someone at the front entrance of the house for two days but no one answered. So I ended up buying toilet roll to use during my stay. I was very lucky to stumble upon one of the cleaners on my third day and they were very helpful and provided me with a cool box to store food. Which is definitely needed because there is no where to store food within the shepards hut and the few food places near the hut cost a fortune. I loved staying there and it was perfect for its proximity to the sea. However, the bathroom is the main reason I probably won’t be going back.
