Stylishly furnished and decorated, renovated to a high standard yet retaining much period character, Hen Dafarn is deceptively spacious. Located in a narrow but quiet residential street and set within the medieval walls of the coastal town of Conwy, this three storey mid-terraced 15th century cottage makes an ideal base, being just a few minutes' walk from the shops, pub, restaurants, waterfront and castle.
Conway is an ideal location to explore the dramatic beauty of the Snowdonia mountains and National Park, enjoy beautiful unspoilt beaches, visit local historic houses and the Victorian splendour of Llandudno or just relax and enjoy great food and wine, whilst taking in the ambience. Situated on the banks of the River Conwy, against a stunning mountainous backdrop is Conwy's magnificent Edwardian Castle. This bustling town offers much to visitors, including a lovely marina, fairs and festivals, interesting shops, quality restaurants and traditional pubs
Cottage was nice and well prepared for our arrival. Welcome hamper was very generous. Spacious enough for 4 people but not for 6. Parking was issue as we were never able to park on the street. We also had a problem with noise at night from pub to the rear of the cottage.
The noise from seagulls was a small problem, as they were raising chicks on all the surrounding roofs and chimney stacks. For some reason, seagulls never sleep, as they kept it up all day AND night! As to the property, we could have done with somewhere to dry our laundry (an airing rack would have been enough).
The cottage is lovely, clean, very well laid out, and in a great location. We spent a lovely Christmas there. We where however a little disappointed in the beds, they need updating. Also there was promise of a welcome pack (which should have included bread, butter, milk) but there was none, and after a long flight with 3 kiddies, it was a disappointment to have to go out looking for a local shop, late at night. Lucky its 2 minute's away.
