Bryn Rhydd is a well-equipped, cosy cottage praised for its spectacular location and comfortable setting. Guests appreciate the generous welcome hamper, the warmth provided by the wood burner, and the lovely walks available from the doorstep. Some minor issues with maintenance and cleanliness were promptly addressed by the friendly housekeeper.
Most guests found the cottage clean and well-maintained, though a few mentioned issues with dust and cobwebs. The housekeeper's prompt response to concerns indicates a commitment to cleanliness.
The cottage's location is highly praised for its seclusion, peacefulness, and the abundance of walks. The spectacular views and the proximity to Bodnant Gardens are frequently mentioned positives.
Guests describe the cottage as cosy and comfortable, with a warm wood burner and comfortable beds. However, taller guests found the doors a bit awkward, and there were some comments about the need for an updated shower.
The property is considered well-equipped by most, but some guests noted issues with the heating boiler and a tired shower. The presence of a generous welcome hamper and a well-stocked wood supply for the burner are positives, although there was a mention of a padlocked wood store.
The thoughtful touches, such as the welcome hamper, the fire being laid ready to light, and provisions for dogs, are well-received. It should be noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.
Hide yourself two fields away from the nearest lane, enjoying sweeping views over the beautiful Bodnant Estate. Bryn Rhydd is a charming traditional cottage giving you easy access to miles of secluded walks along private, wooded paths.
Bryn Rhydd is one of 10 luxury self-catering cottages on The Bodnant Estate, a strikingly beautiful agricultural estate in North Wales. Set in hilly and wooded countryside in the lower reaches of the Conwy Valley, it commands spectacular views across to Snowdonia. Stone cottages and farm buildings have been restored using traditional materials and techniques, and the Estate supports farming and encourages other rural activities. Various houses and cottages in scenic positions on the Estate are available for rent as holiday lets. Come and stay in one of them - and enjoy walking on the many miles of private woodland paths winding through the Estate.
A traditional stone cottage that has been carefully renovated by the owners to retain its country charm while adding modern touches of comfort throughout. The living area contains two comfortable sofas snuggled around a wood burning stove, but you’ll find the large and light kitchen is a good place to relax too, with its oak floor and large range oven and hob.
The cottage makes the most of its elevated position in the Bodnant Estate, with a southerly facing terrace that overlooks the fields and the forests below. The panoramic views over to the Carneddau mountains are simply breathtaking, and you’ll probably spend a happy hour or two sitting out on the terrace and take in the view.

It was in the most magical location and was clean and tidy and felt like home straight away! It's 10mins of main roads in the hills but it is totally worth it!
