About this property

Amlwch is a one-bedroom apartment in Llandudno, ideal for couples looking for a romantic getaway. It is close to the beach and close to all the amenities and attractions that Llandudno has to offer. The interior is contemporary and in a central location for dining out, whilst inside you'll find a compact yet well-equipped kitchen with all the self-catering essentials you need for cooking at home. With its clean and fresh colour scheme, the large living/dining room is bathed in natural light from the bay window and furnished with a flat-screen TV and dining for two for some well-earned downtime. There is a double bedroom, beautifully appointed with storage space, and a contemporary bathroom fitted with a bath, shower over, and heated towel rail. Llandudno is a seaside town in North Wales that's well-known for its pier, promenade, and Venue Cymru. The Great Orme Tramway and Great Orme Mines are also popular attractions, whilst the local station will take you to many sights in North Wales. There are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from, including Wildwood, Carlton, and Osborne's Cafe Grill. There are also two beaches in Llandudno, so you're sure to find one that's perfect for relaxing or watersports. Nearby, you'll find the historic town of Conwy, home to some of the region's most popular tourist attractions. The imposing Conwy Castle is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, while The Smallest House in Great Britain and Plas Mawr are also well worth a visit. Whilst here, be sure to visit Conwy Morfa Beach or head to the National Trust's Bodnant Garden to explore an 80-acre garden. Venture further along the coast to visit Colwyn Bay, Bangor, the royal town of Caernarfon, and the idyllic Isle of Anglesey, whilst Snowdonia National Park has a host of outdoor activities to choose from. Hikes up Carnedd Llewelyn, and Aber Falls are also within easy reach. Enjoy a romantic holiday in North Wales at Amlwch.

These headlands and the town's two waterfronts give Llandudno its special appeal. The town has two superb beaches: the North Shore, with its wide promenade and Victorian hotels, and the quieter West Shore, with miles of sandy shoreline and views of Anglesey. For the best views, ride the Great Orme Tramway or a mile-long cable car to the summit. Venue Cymru, North Wales' premier theatrical stage for opera, ballet, musicals, comedy, and visiting orchestras, is just a stone's throw from the promenade. World Heritage Site Conwy is 4 miles away. Conwy is a mediaeval gem with a magnificent castle and well-preserved town walls. Miles of sandy beaches line North Wales' coast, and Snowdonia National Park is just 20 minutes away.

Wi-fi name and password wrong in welcome book (how hard is it to write the right one in or just print out the right one). Ironing board but no iron. Shower head just flops unless turned on full. Outside area is filthy, untouched & unloved. You have to guess which door you're supposed to unlock because there's no signage. It's in a good location for town behind the tram station but you'll be walking uphill back each time fyi

Only a short walk up the hill from the North Shore and shopping area, perfectly located for getting onto the first tram up to the top of the Orme, or for walking to Haulfre Gardens and onwards to the west shore. Two things that might be useful for future guests to know - the property has a hairdryer (I wasn't sure so we brought one just in case), and it's not possible to connect anything to the TV, although it is a modern smart TV and it is possible to use the built in apps or cast to it.

But we came back from the theatre/pub on Friday eve, it was 11.15pm - and someone had put the latch down on the main front door so we were unable to use our key. We were terrified at the thought of having no access to anywhere overnight. We tried all the entry buzzers - no response. We hammered on the door and eventually a young man from the ground floor flat let us in. It actually happened twice while we were there but we were inside on the second occasion. The solution - The front door lock needs to be changed so that it cannot be locked from the inside only from the outside - that had been done at another flat we subsequently stayed in in N.Ireland and it worked well - as you still needed a key to get in.
