The Gower Peninsula with its rolling countryside and miles of unspoilt coastline is the setting for these very comfortable holiday cottages which themselves are set on 30 acres of land. The cottages have been furnished and equipped to a very high standard and are double glazed throughout. Visitors enjoy shared use of a games room with table tennis and a pool table and may relax in the garden area. Set next to Ty Ysgubor, this very comfortably furnished cottage has a beamed living/dining room with rugs on quarry-tiled floor and an electric fire set in the stone fireplace. An archway and step lead down to a modern fitted kitchen, well-equipped for rustling up a feast at the end of a fun filled day. Open tread stairs lead up to the first floor where you’ll find the three bedrooms, all with sloping, beamed ceilings; one double, one twin and one single. The shower room on the first floor completes this inviting cottage.
A nearby cycle track leads to the Mumbles, which is famous for its lighthouse and lifeboat station and boasts seaside attractions, a pleasant promenade and lots of sailing dinghies and small boats. At Penclawdd (3 miles), cockle fishermen go out on to the mudflats at low tide with horse-drawn carts to rake out the cockle harvest. Many of the Gower’s sandy beaches are backed by dunes, and some offer excellent windsurfing; there are sandy coves with rock pools and the coastal path leads to wonderful cliff-top views. Inland, the sheep and sturdy Gower ponies roam moorlands which offer further opportunities for walks, picnics, riding and birdwatching. There is easy access to many beautiful sandy beaches and coves within 10 miles or so, and opportunities nearby for scenic moorland and coastal walks in this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Gowerton, with its shops and pub, and local trains to west and mid Wales, is only half a mile away. The many facilities of Swansea include restaurants, shops, theatres, leisure centre, concert halls, museums, golf courses, extensive parks and gardens. A 30-minute drive leads to the National Botanical Gardens in Carmarthenshire, whilst an 18-hole golf course and a wildlife and wetlands sanctuary are both only ten minutes away by car. Shops ½ mile.
Ty Gwyn can be booked together with Ty Ysgubor (JYZ), Ty Berllan (OAB), Ty Llaethdy (OAC) and Ty Cae Mawr (OAD) to accommodate up to 14 guests.

My wife, 2 young children and I, had never been to this area before. We'd heard it was beautiful and wanted to ensure we booked a nice cottage for the stay, and boy we struck gold. The location was on a farm, with some lovely animals nearby, and had the quietness of being rural, but also there were shops within walking distance. The cottage was situated perfectly to visit before North and South coasts. We mainly done South as were advised better for children. The cottage itself was lovely. Had plenty of character, all the facilities you'd expect (and more). Plenty of space for the 4 of us too. Reliable WiFi (although we don't let WiFi determine our choices of where to holiday).Car parking is private and right outside the cottage. Games room round the side too with table tennis and a pool table. The biggest stand out for us was the host - David. He lives in the house just down the way, and has ample knowledge of the area and makes you feel at home straight away. He grew up nearby so there's little he doesn't know. He was super responsive the 1 occasion where we needed him to move a vehicle for us, which gave us comfort he was nearby too. Honestly cannot thank David enough. Overall this HAS to get 5 stars from us.
