First glance impression was ‘this is nice’. Unfortunately sadly I was soon disappointed. The upstairs shower door immediately half came off whilst gently moving it. I contacted the owner/Martyn who was friendly & apologetic, explained how to reattach it. And that they cannot get replacement springs. My son put the door back, but the issue reoccurred. Owner/Leanne, arranged for their daughter to reattach it. My son left on Wednesday, so the shower was no longer needed. I had previously read 2 reviews on this issue, 1 soon after booking 11 months ago & 1 more recently.I had also read about the fridge, ‘tired’. The fridge was not thoroughly clean, along with bits in the vegetable tray, & some crevices & the rubber seal were dirty. Also very badly stained inside, along with broken storage trays.Single mattresses are old, creaky, very badly stained. Mattress toppers also stained, as were some pillows. The mattress/bed was not comfortable. My son said the double bed was comfortable. Though the topper also has a stain mark.Settee was comfortable but stained.Downstairs shower room, the toilet pipe and floor area either side of the toilet was not clean, the shower tiling grout has a lot of black mould.Upstairs towel radiator is very rusty as is the downstairs shower room mirror.I also noticed several cobwebs, & ie dirty marks on a light switch. The outside table still had spillage marks on. The downstairs bedroom curtain has a lot of dirty markings on the reverse. The doors to the garden needs replacing/repairing, because the right hand door will not open without unbolting the left hand door, due to the damage wear at the bottom corners on both doors. Then you have to push very hard. Nor do they close easily. This could be a hazard if an emergency exit was needed. Nice to have a garden outside area. I work doing private cleaning, one of which is a holiday cottage. I am very aware and conscientious of the high importance of hygiene and cleanliness, particularly in the holiday cottage. It’s a real shame and I’m sorry that I am unable to give a good review for The Dairy.Sadly the cottage did not reflect the pleasant description about it on the introduction information. The Dairy is located in a lovely area, near to the ‘village green’ with its well equipped childrens playground. There is also adult exercising apparatuses. The local shop/post office is a short walk away, as is the local pub/restaurant which serves very nice food. ( kitchen closes at 8pm).The Gower Peninsula is a beautiful area to visit.

The Dairy was clean, comfortable, well equipped for self catering. It’s right beside a road, but not too noisy as school holidays. Take care driving out of the gateway into the road. It has a bbq and good outside seating and table, but sadly weather too hot for us to sit out there. Small shop 10-15 mins walk sells lots of basic groceries, and lovely home made Welsh cakes. Went to the local pub one evening at 8.10 pm to be told kitchen closes at 8 pm, so drove to Dunvant for Chinese takeaway, cash only. Cottage is within 30 mins drive to beautiful ,uncrowded beaches, £8 to park all day. There is also a kids play park a few minutes walk from the cottage. Overall we had a nice stay in the cottage and local area.

What I wish I'd known before booking is that this property is immediately adjacent to a busy main road which is very noisy. The nature of the area is such that a small road like this bears a great deal of traffic, and it is constant. This affects sitting outside (we went in July) and having the garden doors open. The upstairs main bedroom is also effected by the noisy road which resumes its activity in the early hours of the morning. Be aware also that the downstairs children's bedroom is the opposite side of the property to the upstairs bedroom and parents don't have immediate access in the night. Parking is good, although we were the only guests at the cottages at the time. Pulling onto the road is difficult because there's no buffer space at all and the wall acts as a blind spot so be careful. Unfortunately the upstairs shower door wasn't attached making the shower unusable but it wasn't much of an issue as there's a shower downstairs. Location is very good, you can be at any of the local beaches in 20 minutes.
