Absolutely fantastic time and a lovely host. We will be coming back for sure. Just a perfect wee weekend away at a spotlessly clean cottage couldn’t have asked for any better loved it 🥰

We had a relaxing week exploring the local area. The cottage was an excellent base for this. Our trips included Aberystwyth, for shopping, seeing the sea (and in summer would be swimming in the sea), and for the view from the cafe at the top of the funicular railway (excellent). We also drove the Elan Valley roads, for spectacular views, and found an artisan pottery, run by Duncan and Karen Browning at Cwmystwyth (part way along the valley on the road from Pontyrhydfendigaid - which is near the cottage - to Rhyader). We also went to Builth Wells, and (ONLY if you are a very confident driver) you could try the road from there, via Beulah, and Abergwesyn to Tregaron, which is VERY spectacular and challenging, the road being barely wider than the car, with few verges, steeps drops to one (usually the passenger's) side, many blind summits, and a few steep hairpin bends - the road clings to the mountain side - did I say it was bendy ? The local roads, including most of the mountain ones, were very well surfaced. A welcome soak in the cottage's (private) hot tub rounded off most days excellently. The hosts, Iona and Iffan were very welcoming and helpful.

Me and my boyfriend came here for a relaxing 3 night break. On arrival we were looking forward to jumping in the hot tub but had to wait untill it was dark because the family in the property next door had kids and a dog who were running up and down the grass verge at the rear of the property. The children's climbing frame was located up the far right end of this grass verge, strangely, considering the accommodation we were in was 1 bedroom and no high chair or anything was present anywhere so therefore only for couples. There was no fence to provide privacy whilst in the hot tub at the end of the patio/ hot tub area. Not very relaxing on the ears or visually when you've come to the countryside for some peace and quiet. The second night the weather was too bad for hot tubbing and finally on our last night there were no kids running around or dogs and we got the chance to jump in the hot tub before the sun set so we could enjoy it properly. Shame we couldn't have done that the first night too :( The property was stunning and the host was lovely. Comfy bed, lovely bath and log burner. Shame really because everything else was perfect 👌
