Snaptrip says

Gerlan cottage is a traditional Welsh property offering a peaceful rural retreat with a cosy atmosphere. Guests appreciate the friendly and helpful host, comfortable beds, and the charm of the cottage's quirks. The separate garden area is a highlight, providing a lovely setting for relaxation. While some guests mention maintenance issues and challenges with parking, the overall experience is one of a homely and welcoming stay, with many looking forward to returning.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Reviews on cleanliness are mixed, with some guests finding the cottage clean and fresh, while others reported cobwebs, dust, and a need for better maintenance. The presence of both positive and negative comments suggests that cleanliness levels may vary, leading to a slightly above average score.

The location is generally appreciated for its quietness and picturesque countryside, though some guests have concerns about the cottage being on a sharp bend with speeding cars. The proximity to local amenities and attractions is noted positively, but the need to drive for country walks and the parking difficulties slightly affect the score.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with comfy beds and a homely feel. The wood burner is a cosy addition for cooler evenings. However, some guests mention that certain beds are only suitable for small children, and the presence of a heatwave highlighted the lack of ventilation in one room, slightly reducing the score.

Facilities are generally adequate, with a well-equipped kitchen and a good DVD collection. However, several guests mention maintenance issues such as broken cupboards, a rusty washing machine, and the need for better lighting. These maintenance concerns lead to a score that reflects room for improvement.

There is insufficient information in the reviews to assess the level of thoughtfulness in terms of gifts or extra touches provided by the host. No specific mentions of gifts or special attention to guest needs beyond standard hospitality are noted, resulting in a null score for this category.

You are not far for the beaches, walks, sights and towns that have everything you need. The cottage was well furnished, nicely laid out and the additional deck was perfect for BBQs and eating outside. The road and parking looked off-putting but the road itself was never busy and the parking, as stated was not a concern for smaller cars. I highly recommend the cottage for couples who just want to get away! Many thanks to Janey for all of the help.

She send us loads great ideas on where to go and places to eat. The cottage was very very clean and comfortable. The only downside was the parking and the cottage was on a sharp bend and no garden to let the dog out. Apart from that it was beautiful

However she very kindly finished work early to get the property ready for us. Anyway this cottage was beautiful, really relaxing, so cosy with wood burner and had lots of character. Well looked after and had everything you need. The owner is lovely, she made sure we were settled in and had everything we needed and made sure we could work TV etc. She gave us her number in case we needed anything. Will definitely stay again. Only problem was I would've liked to stay for longer this time!
