Arforwest is a peaceful, well-equipped cottage in a beautiful, secluded location with stunning sea views. Guests consistently praise its cleanliness, comfort, and suitability for dogs, as well as the warm welcome from the owners. The cottage offers a homely atmosphere and is an excellent base for exploring the Cardigan Bay area. Some guests noted the garden is not fully enclosed for dogs and mentioned minor maintenance or accessibility issues, but overall experiences are overwhelmingly positive.
Multiple reviews highlight the cottage as spotlessly clean and well maintained, with particular confidence in the cleanliness of kitchen equipment. Only one review mentions the property as 'a little tired', but this is outweighed by the majority of positive comments.
The location is frequently described as beautiful, peaceful, and offering outstanding views. Its seclusion and proximity to the coast are praised, though a few guests mention the need for a car and narrow country lanes.
Guests find the cottage warm, comfortable, and spacious, with comfortable beds and a homely feel. Some minor comments about steps and accessibility, but overall comfort is highly rated.
The cottage is described as well equipped with everything needed for a stay, including ample parking and storage. Some guests mention the lack of a fully enclosed garden for dogs and minor maintenance or upgrade needs, but these are not common concerns.
Several guests mention a welcome tray, fresh milk, and Welsh cakes on arrival, and praise the owner's responsiveness and communication. Please note that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

The pretty coastal town of New Quay is nearby, which boasts a sandy beach and slipway, sailing, water-skiing, wind-surfing, tennis and boat trips for fishing or watching the dolphins offshore. This is a great area for aspiring astronomers who like star gazing at night as there are three planets that can be seen on clear nights as there is no light interference. The dramatic north Pembrokeshire coastline and Cardigan Bay are all within easy reach and include some truly beautiful beaches, with Mwnt, Aberporth and Aberaeron really worth the visit.
