Return to this immaculate holiday cottage in the west of the Brecon Beacons National Park, after a day exploring vast mountain wilderness, moorlands, woods, towns and villages stretching across Powys and Carmarthenshire.

An area with outstanding geological heritage, Fforest Fawre encompasses some 300 square miles of fantastically diverse countryside over the western side of the Brecon Beacons. Grab an Ordnance Survey map and head out to discover mountains, woods, gorges, lakes and rivers in spectacular scenery. Hire mountain bikes at Sennybridge, try pony trekking at Cantref Adventure Farm or head to the bustling towns of Llandovery and Llandeilo to find some very interesting cafes, pubs, a few boutiqu shops and antique shops. While you're there, visit Aberglasney House, the National Botanic Garden of Wales and the wild and romantic Carreg Cennen Castle. Visit the National Showcave Centre for Wales with its Dinosaur Park and impressive underground caves, whilst Craig y Nos Country Park is also a lovely family day out.
