Come and enjoy all that Woodlands has to offer, nestled on the edge of the historic township of Laugharne within a wooded valley and just off the ’Grist’, the central hub of this truly charming town. It really does offer the perfect base to explore, enjoy a morning stroll with a coffee and a good book, and take a seat on the banks of the River Taf and take in the picture postcard views with Laugharne Castle, Dylan’s Boat House and Ferryside all in view. Laugharne was made famous by the poet Dylan Thomas, and to this day you can visit the Boat House which was once Dylan’s home, where he lived with his family, and which is now a museum, along with his writing shed, a must to visit. Within the town enjoy rambling around the Georgian townhouses and take in some of the fresh local produce and craft ales at some of fantastic eateries.
Woodlands has been lovingly restored by the current owners and they have retained all of the charm and character this property has to offer. This detached cottage has beamed ceilings and original wooden floors in the bedroom, and in the evening, enjoy cooking that special meal in the galley style kitchen which features granite work tops. Each bedroom has been furnished to a very good standard and again teaming with character, and the bathroom is complete with a roll-top bath and spacious shower.
A 5-minute drive away is the seaside resort of Pendine which is perfect for long walks, building sandcastles and exploring rook pools with your family. This 7 mile long beach is one of longest in West Wales, and where Malcolm Campbell set the world land speed record five times, hence its perfect for land sailing and kite buggying, or for a little relaxation try some fishing. The walled town of Tenby and Saundersfoot are only 30/40 minutes away and perfect for days out, along with Oakwood, Wales’s largest theme park, and Folly Farm Zoo. Beach 5 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 100 yards.

This was our second visit to Woodlands and we had a very comfortable and relaxing time. The cottage has still retained its “olde worlde” charm and had everything we needed for our stay. The village of Laugharne boasts a Spar, Pub, lovely cafe, gift shop and chip shop as well as, of course, it beautiful Castle and the Boathouse. We would definately recommend Woodlands and would return in the future.

Well located in village, local shop, eateries and good walks. Good off road parking especially as directly outside windows is constantly used as carpark by residents.Well resourced kitchen but extremely disappointed as I had to throw in date food from faulty fridge, when owner messaged I was told they did not know the fridge was faulty despite last 2 reviews saying the same! Unfortunately, no further communication or offer of remuneration. So would not revisit.

Had a great stay at the cottage, very lucky the weather stayed mainly dry. The cottage was ideally located at edge of village a stone's throw from the main street, pubs and eateries. Lots of space as just the two of us, only downside was the bed could have had a comfier mattress. Kitchen was well stocked and overall cottage was clean. Would book again.
