Sited on a small farm that keeps the environment and sustainability to the forefront, this locally and lovingly handcrafted ger combines traditional design with modern day comforts. Georgie is perfect for families, cyclists or just those who want to relax in a retreat with a difference.

Step inside the spacious interior and you will find everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The wood burning stove quickly and efficiently takes the chill off a cooler day and a complimentary basket of logs will be ready for your arrival. The double bed is fully made up for you and there is a cosy blanket to snuggle under if the temperature drops a little. Even better, this blanket is spun from the wool of " your" very own alpaca, Georgie, after whom the ger is named. As well as the double bed there is a comfortable day bed which quickly and easily becomes two full size single beds. A mini-kitchen area houses a camp cooker with kettle, pots, pans and everything you need to rustle up a simple meal. There is also a state-of-the-art cool box with ice packs that will keep foods cool for up to 72 hours.

Outside, the Indian kadai firebowl is the natural place for sociable gatherings. Tree-stump seating, sourced from other projects on the farm and a picnic table with bench seating offers the perfect place to relax and take in the view of the river and the Brechfa forest beyond. While honing your barbecue skills, be sure to help yourself to the herbs that are generously planted around Georgie.

For those with younger ones (or even for those just young at heart!) the wide meadow is the perfect place for adventures. Eco-sensitively managed with wildlife in mind, paths are mown through it while the rest is left to grow long to provide habitat for butterflies, bees and a host of other wildlife. The paths lead down towards the play area near the river,(which is securely fenced off with stock-proof fencing and rabbit wire) the perfect place for children. Far enough away for them to have a sense of independence, but close enough to Georgie for you to keep an eye on them. Just sit back with a glass of something delicious and relax!

In the fabulous larch-clad facilities block, there’s a kitchenette with shared fridge and freezer, a microwave and kettle and a sink with hot and cold running water where you can do your washing- up. Feel free to help yourself to the tea and coffee there. There is a private bathroom for the yurt. This has a shower, basin and flushing WC. For those late-night visits, there are two additional state-of-the-art waterless WCs located near the gers, with solar powered battery lighting – the access paths will light up as you approach.

Your alpaca

Georgie is playful and inquisitive and adores being at the centre of attention – be sure to introduce yourself to “your” alpaca!

The warm blanket and comfortable cushions you will find inside are made from Georgie’s fleece, which has been spun and woven locally.

Welcome pack provided of tea, coffee, milk, sugar, Welsh cake, marshmallows plus enough kindling, wood and firelighters for your first night.

Eggs may be available to purchase on-site during the laying season.

Storage available for bikes (max 4). Wash down area also available.

The whole site may be booked for a Pilates retreat - please request prior to booking.

If you are interested in booking two gers for an extended group, Neptune and Ollie are ideal.

If you are booking as a group of 12, Oreo, Ollie and Georgie will suit you perfectly.
