About this property

Glan Y Don provides fantastic family accommodation in an enviable beachside position in the wonderful village of Abersoch. This delightful double-fronted cottage boasts a sitting room with exposed beams, lovely woodburner and superb sea views, and to the rear is a spacious dining room leading through to a modern fitted kitchen. Upstairs at this cottage in Abersoch, you will find three bedrooms, with two enjoying views over the beach and harbour, whilst outside are steps cut into the rocks that lead onto the beach. An excellent Abersoch cottage for families. Note: This cottage is next to Ref. 20127, together they sleep 10.

The harbour village of Abersoch is situated on the Llyn Peninsula. The village, a popular sailing venue offers three beaches, as well as shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes. Most of the coastline is owned by the National Trust and there are remote bays, sandy beaches and cliffs to explore, plus the towns of Pwllheli and Criccieth are nearby, and within driving distance are the Snowdonia National Park and Anglesey.

It was a shame that towels were not included - was not obvious on the listing, was just mentioned on an email. Also a shame to have no additional “home comforts” in the cottage - for example, no tea and coffee (but empty display jars) and no salt and pepper (but empty grinders in the cupboard). Some of the appliances were also a bit antiquated - toaster wouldn’t toast bread/muffins, just dried them out, and oven/grill a bit temperamental. Overall, the place is in a perfect location for a break and it suited our needs for a base for The Roc Wales. Could do with an overall spruce up and modernising, and a few additional amenities wouldn’t go amiss.

The family loved it despite the less than perfect weather.

Nicely managed by the owners . Within the town with plentiful eateries and restaurants, the property has one allocated parking space. Small lawned picnic area across the road from the house , right above the cliff overlooking the sands of the bay. Perfect for a family break . I would recommend to friends and family.
