About this property

A sympathetically restored cottage set within the grounds of a heritage site and former ironworks complex, perfect for couples wanting to explore the Brecon Beacons National Park.

The village of Nantyglo stands at the head of the Ebbw Fach valley, amid a rugged landscape of typically, Welsh countryside. The village is well served with a range of shops, traditional pubs and a nearby old fashioned cinema. The farm includes the Roundhouse Towers, which are within the walled grounds and steeped in history, relating to Joseph and Crawshay Bailey s ironworks and industrial unrest. There are many walks from the farm that will guide you across the countryside along with the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains a short distance away. For enthusiastic golfers, you can tee off at the highest tee in Great Britain at the West Monmouthshire Golf Club. Visit the many vibrant market towns including Abergavenny, Crickhowell and Brecon where you can sample locally sourced products from the farmers markets. Other attractions include the Blaenavon Heritage Railway and the Blaenavon Ironworks. The end cottage within the restored terrace, step in and back in time. The ground floor offers an open plan living space finished with a contemporary twist enhancing the exposed stonework. The lounge is a place to relax with comfortable armchairs that surround a Smart TV, while for dining, there is a table and chairs for two. Cook romantic meals together in the well equipped kitchen, with electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge with ice compartment. And when the day is done, climb the solid wooden staircase to the landing where you will find a double bedroom with views onto the surrounding countryside. Off the landing is a shower room with a rainwater shower and WC. To the front of the cottage, there is a small terrace where you can enjoy the morning sun. There is also a communal area with a fire pit within the grounds. There is on site parking and storage for bikes and canoes. Electric vehicle charging is available on site.
