About this property

Gorffwysfa is a cheerful holiday cottage in the popular seaside town of Trearddur Bay on Anglesey. The interior is compact and offers relaxing bedrooms and a choice of sitting areas. The outside space is equally relaxing and tranquil - make sure you get some time chilling out here with your morning cuppa or evening glass of wine!

The sitting room is towards the back of the cottage and has comfy sofas around a gas log burner effect fire, as well as a TV and DVD player.

The small but perfectly formed kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is an outside utility room that has the fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.

The dining area has a wood burning stove, room to seat four people for meals and even a sofa to cosy up on with a good book.

There’s also a separate snug room with an antique piano, a daybed and a desk.

The two bedrooms are sweet and one has an ensuite shower room with double basin vanity unit and loo.

The family bathroom has a bath with shower over, loo and hand basin.

Step outside to see the enclosed garden with pretty planting, a lawned area and furniture for sitting out on.At the front there is gate access with a covered area which is great for storing bicycles, boards or kayaks.

Gorffwysfa sits on the western coast of Anglesey and you’re a stone’s throw from both Four Mile Bridge or Pont Rhydybont. From the holiday cottage you can very nearly step directly onto the Anglesey Coastal Footpath, making it ideal for walkers. Watersports, fishing, golfing and cycling are also popular pastimes in this part of Anglesey. The sandy beaches at Rhoscolyn and Trearddur Bay are both within three miles. Places to eat and drink are also very close by.

Valley is a popular village on the north west coast of Anglesey. It is on the Anglesey Coastal Path with plenty of wonderfully scenic walks. The village boasts a variety of shops and restaurants, two hotels and a café, and is only four miles from the renowned beach resort of Trearddur Bay and Rhoscolyn. Here you will find a beautiful sweep of grassy coastline with rocky coves and award-winning sandy beaches, as well as a choice of shops, pubs and restaurants. Spotlessly clean with everything you could possibly need and a lovely welcome pack.

Inspite of the inclement weather with Storm Agnes during our stay we explored the island throughout the week and enjoyed returning to a cosy cottage . The kitchen was great for an easy self catering holiday , with the super efficient gas woodburner style fire and comfy bed our stay was perfect . Thank you Alma for such a lovely welcome and very generous treats ! Would love to return in the future ...for husband and I there's so much geology yet to be discovered and so many photos yet to be taken !

Having 2 bathrooms was ideal. One improvement I would suggest would be a heated towel rail for the smaller bathroom as towels didn't really dry out in there. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, plenty of sofas. The Velux windows were a real plus in what can be a dark old building. The garden was lovely with mature shrubs, space and privacy. There was a feeling of lots of care and thought going into the property. We also felt that the description in the information about it was accurate and the whole atmosphere was welcoming on arrival, as was the welcome pack and hand written card from Alma Williams Four Mile Bridge was an excellent location to get easily to places I had previously visited and new ones too. I would certainly consider using the Gorffwysfa again.
