The Cottage at Garnedd Isaf is a one-bedroom holiday cottage attached to the main farmhouse on a lovely three-acre smallholding tucked away in the Anglesey countryside. This cosy retreat sleeps two in a king-size bed and has everything you need for a peaceful getaway all on one level. The owners have friendly cats and hens that provide fresh eggs, so you get that authentic rural experience without being miles from anywhere. As an added bonus, the Ring pub in Rhosgoch is within walking distance for evenings when you fancy a pint and don't want to cook.

Rhosgoch sits on the northeast side of Anglesey and is brilliantly placed for exploring the island's most spectacular coastline. Cemaes Bay, Wales' most northerly village, is just 10 minutes away with two gorgeous sandy beaches, a picturesque harbour, and pretty rockpools. The beach kiosk serves proper food and ice creams, and on some evenings during summer, they cook fresh pizzas that you can eat sitting on the harbour wall and watching the boats. Amlwch is about ten minutes by car with local shops, a supermarket, butchers, and takeaways for when you need supplies. The coastal path around this part of Anglesey is absolutely stunning, with dramatic cliffs, hidden coves, and views that stretch across to the Irish Sea.

Anglesey is a brilliant place to explore, and you've got the whole of North Wales just across the Menai Strait. The island's famous beaches are all within reach - from tiny secluded coves to sweeping sands at Benllech and Red Wharf Bay. South Stack, with its lighthouse and seabird colonies, is worth the drive, as is Beaumaris with its magnificent castle and Victorian pier. The Anglesey coastal path runs right around the island if you're after serious walking, while water sports enthusiasts can windsurf, sail, and surf from various beaches.

Cross the Menai Bridge or Britannia Bridge and you're into Snowdonia within minutes. Caernarfon Castle - that massive unesco fortress built by Edward I - is just 20 minutes by car, and the town itself is lovely for wandering with its harbour and independent shops. Conwy and its medieval walls are about 40 minutes away - those battlements and the castle are absolutely unmissable, and you can walk the complete circuit of the town defences. Llandudno's Victorian pier and Great Orme cable car make a brilliant day out, while Betws-y-Coed puts you right in the heart of Snowdonia's mountains and waterfalls. Mount Snowdon itself is easily reached by car, and whether you fancy the mountain railway or hiking to the summit, those views are something else. The slate mines at Blaenau Ffestiniog, Zip World for adventure, and all those dramatic peaks and valleys are yours to enjoy. This holiday cottage in Anglesey gives you island beaches and countryside with mainland mountains and historic towns all within easy reach.
