Guests say

Min Y Mor is a charming cottage praised for its peaceful and beautiful location with stunning views. Guests appreciate the property's character, historical significance, and well-stocked kitchen. While some guests mention issues with cleanliness and maintenance, the overall experience is often described as enjoyable, with many expressing a desire to return.

Cleanliness scores vary, with several guests noting areas that require attention, such as dust, cobwebs, and pet odours. However, others found the property clean and comfortable, suggesting inconsistency in cleaning standards.

The location is highly praised for its idyllic setting, stunning views of the Menai Straits, and proximity to local attractions. It is described as peaceful and perfect for both relaxing and exploring Anglesey.

Comfort is generally well-regarded, with guests finding the beds and bedding comfortable. Some suggest the addition of wardrobes and shower facilities would enhance comfort further.

Facilities are appreciated, particularly the well-equipped kitchen. However, there are mentions of maintenance issues such as heating problems and non-functioning appliances, indicating room for improvement.

While some guests mention welcome gifts such as Welsh cakes, there is insufficient information to assess the consistency of thoughtfulness across all stays. It should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and not guaranteed.

About this property

We just love Min y Mor holiday house. Located on the south east corner of Anglesey, with the waters of the Menai Strait lapping in front of you, and the mountains of Snowdonia forming an impressive backdrop, this is a magical setting. The house is quirky and contemporary, with a calm atmosphere.

The bright and welcoming kitchen/dining room is furnished with a farmhouse table which will seat up to 12. The kitchen is equipped with a range cooker (gas hob and electric oven) and a fridge.

The utility room houses an American larder fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, a sink and extra cupboard space.

Offering the most wonderful views, the sitting room is furnished with rugs on the slate floors, comfy sofas and chairs, and an electric wood burning effect stove. Features include an iPod dock, CD player, TV with DVD player and BT Vision Broadband.

Upstairs are four gorgeous bedrooms, the landing is on differing levels which might affect those with mobility issues. We love the landing, as it has a great feeling of light and space. You can sit in the window seat and watch the water race past down to the open sea. The first room has a king size bed and a small TV, and the second has a double bed.

A further two rooms have two single day beds which convert to double or twin beds, though it will be a little bit of a squeeze! Paintings adorn the walls, adding to the charm of this lovely little house.

The bathroom has a bath, loo, wash basin and towel rail. There's also a downstairs shower room with loo and wash hand basin.

With its painted wooden door, the pretty courtyard is a delight - ideal for al fresco meals. You could be anywhere in the world!

As with many of our rural properties, access is down a track, which can be rough in places.

This Grade II Listed cottage was the home of the artist Sir Kyffin Williams, whose studio was beside the house. Now completely refurbished by its new incumbent artist, Sophie Keir, it is a peaceful and relaxing sanctuary.

Enjoy sitting and watching the boats and the birds pass by. At night there is little light pollution so you can see the moon rising from behind the mountains. This is a truly idyllic spot.

The beds will be made made up as advertised, if you would like a different bed configuration please contact Menai Holidays 7 days before your arrival.

Affectionately known by the locals as Llanfair PG, the Anglesey village of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrnd robwllllantysiliogogogoch, also known by its shortened name of Llanfairpwllgwyngyll has the longest place name in Europe. It was artificially named back in 1860 as a publicity stunt for the railway station and translates from Welsh as "St Mary's church in the hollow of the white hazel near to the fierce whirlpool and the church of St Tysilio of the red cave". Situated close to the Menai Straits, just off the Britannia Bridge, Llanfair PG has much to offer families. After having your photo taken next to the village nameplate at the railway station, head into the popular visitors centre for local tourist information. A short walk past the octagonal Toll House, towards Menai Bridge, will bring you to the Marquis of Anglesey statue and column which, for a small fee, you can climb the 115 steps to the top for superb views of the countryside and coastline. Nelson’s Monument can be easily reached on the banks of the Menai Straits, passing St Mary’s Church on the way. With several good pubs with restaurants, craft and gift shops and cafes, plus the beautiful Anglesey coastline within walking distance, there is plenty to entertain you all year round.

Our fourth visit and it’s always special.

Loved the views across the Menai Straits and the complete quiet of the location. Bedrooms very comfortable and the two log effect electric fires on the living room and kitchen were great on really cold days. We will be coming back next year! The only tiny criticism was that the dishwasher didn’t work, which is maybe why some of the plates in the cupboards were not totally clean. But we managed fine. Everything else worked and the cottage was very well equipped. Great having all the books on the former owner Kyffin Williams to browse also!

The position is superb with a constantly changing panorma outside. The whole area had a strong sense of peace generated by being so near to the water. We were all very comfortable and warm. The kitcen area was very well equipped. We know because ate in every evening except one. Thoroughly recommed the nearby farm shops providing top notch wide variety of locally sourced produce. Minor negatives - Yes the track down does have a few pot holes which really could do with repairing. A torch would have been helpful for taking the dog for short walk last thing. Already planning to book next year. Thanks to the caretaker Angharad.
