Ty Capel is a pretty stone holiday cottage built in 1861 as a Chapel House and now a modern cottage offering happy breaks to all. Inside you will still find the beamed ceilings, sash windows, a wood burner and an open fire, and original floorboards. Nestled in a tranquil countryside setting on Anglesey, there’s the cycle route 566 close by, as well as a lake, sweeping views of Snowdonia and lots of lovely walks.
The living space is open plan and includes the kitchen, dining and sitting areas. The kitchen has all you need with an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and toaster. The round dining table seats six people. The cosy seating area has comfortable sofas set around a multi fuel stove to add warmth, a T and DVD player. French doors lead out onto the patio and large back garden.
There is a separate snug which is a lovely room with an original bookcase with books of local interest, maps, adult and children's fiction as well as games and a TV. You will enjoy relaxing in here.
Stairs from the hallway lead up to three bedrooms - one double room, one twin room and a room with full sized bunks. Also on this floor is a family bathroom with bath and shower over, loo, wash hand basin and heated towel rail.
At the front of the holiday cottage is a small enclosed courtyard. At the back of the cottage is a large garden laid to lawn with patio area, garden furniture and picnic bench. There is ample parking available.
If there are more than six in your party you can also rent out Capel Bach next door which sleeps seven.

A wonderful outlook over fields! We had a wonderful Christmas period and New Years at the cottage and were greeted with a bottle of cava and some chocolate biscuits which was a nice surprise. The only thing that let the cottage down was the shower which didnât work at all! Thankfully we had family on the island so could use their shower so we managed. However we didnât contact the owners to inform them of the shower at the time as we felt it needed a new one altogether and didnât want work being carried out at the property during our stay. It was also quite chilly upstairs even with the heaters on but every bed had electric heated blankets which were a godsend! The weather was extremely wet and windy during our stay which may have been why it was cold? Overall a charming cottage with lots of character and the kitchen was fully stocked. If the shower is changed to a more modern one then we would definitely consider booking here again, although in the summer time âºï¸.

However we were very disappointed with the cleanliness of the cottage. Dirt and grime mixed with very old spiders webs behind the furniture and, worse, behind and underneath the beds and also on the surfaces of the bed frames. We spent a couple of hours vacuum cleaning these areas so that we could sleep. The bed sheet on the main double bed had blood stains and hairs. We are not convinced that the sheets were replaced after the last occupier. Not pleasant at all. In the bathroom the shower curtain was in need of urgent renewal with dirt and mould and old soap covering the lower half. It was obvious that the cleaners are just cleaning the main visible surfaces and are not paying attention to detail. With hind-sight we should have contacted the owners on arrival and demanded that they correct the issues. We are reasonable people and do not demand 100% perfection but this was really unacceptable. It is a real shame that our holiday, the first since lockdown, was spoilt in this way. Clearly the cottage has great potential and the facilities are good. But the cleanliness was quite appalling.

Perfect area not far to visit the beautiful beaches Anglesey had to offer. Best beach we found on this visit Benllech and the cafe Bay Cafe right on the sea front overlooking the bay, dog friendly too. You can walk to Red Wharf Bay but watch the tide. Asda only 8 mins by car, honesty box up the road for fresh farm eggs, butchers in the town near Asda. Watch the bats at night over the back of the cottage. Will definitely visit again
