We really enjoyed the hot tub as well!

Ideally situated near to beach and shop. Just a couple of little things that could improve your stay: Would be nice to have a few more cleaning products to make sure it’s clean when leaving. It would be a good idea to have a foot towel near the patio doors for when you get Out of the hot tub so you don’t wet the flooring when coming in. Couldn’t find the switch to turn on the extractor fan above the hob.

Our thoughts regarding Melody can easily be split into 2 sections - inside and outside. Location: The view of the coast from the property is very limited, but the location is very handy for easy access to the beach and pretty harbour area, and the village tourist and grocery shops, pubs /cafe/ chip shop are just a short stroll away. We found it to be a quiet and very friendly village. Inside: The house fixtures and fittings have been fitted out to a high specification, modern, clean and comfortable - it's lovely. We were frustrated to be without simple kitchenware like casseroles and serving spoons, and a choice of wine glass other than the lovely large goblets to enjoy a champagne moment would have been nice... There is plenty of storage space in kitchen cupboards that swallowed our food delivery with ease. We had an issue when trying to connect the wifi, and in a very short time the property owner was on the phone and was very concerned and helpful . A nice approach. Outside: Before we booked Melody, we read other feedback saying that gates were needed on either side of the house to prevent dogs getting out of the back garden and onto the road. I spoke with Sykes, who contacted the owners, gates were fitted and we felt happy to book our holiday. On arrival, we found the gates were great - but the rear garden had a quite new but incomplete fence down one side, leaving a 2 foot gap where an attempt had been made to block it with a collapsed bamboo screen.... and part of the rear boundary that was not fenced at all - just a grassy bank and hedging with large gaps beneath. So the access out to the front was dog friendly, but the pet security of the side and back were sadly lacking - very disappointing considering that Sykes and the owners were both aware of our concerns before our booking. Our Sykes contact confirmed that, following my call on arrival day, the owners had been made aware of our fencing concerns, but during a direct phone call they claimed to be unaware and unable to help during our stay. My advice to dog owners would be to seek confirmation of improvement before booking. The garden was the only one in the street that had long grass, front and rear, and the rear raised paving area had loose paving stones that were very unsteady, nearly resulting in a fall - I wonder if having given the house a make over, and fitted an extensive quality decking area, the remainder of the garden might be a future project? I hope so because the house deserves it. Either way, it will come too late to rescue what should have been our relaxed holiday. The house is lovely, and we would certainly consider going again, but not until the garden issues are properly addressed.
