Guests say

Hafod Cottage in Cemaes Bay, Anglesey, is highly praised for its cleanliness, beautiful garden, and peaceful location. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, secure garden for pets, and thoughtful touches like welcome treats. While some minor maintenance issues and comfort preferences are noted, the overall experience is very positive, with many guests planning to return.

The cottage receives high marks for cleanliness, with multiple reviews mentioning it being 'spotlessly clean' and well-maintained. This consistent feedback suggests a very high standard of cleanliness.

The location is frequently described as peaceful and quiet, with a secure garden and proximity to local amenities and the beach. The scenic views and easy access to the rest of the island are also appreciated, indicating a very favourable location.

Comfort is generally rated highly, with positive remarks about cosy furnishings and well-equipped rooms. Some guests mention beds being too soft or duvets too heavy, but these are personal preferences rather than widespread issues.

Facilities are well-regarded, with the addition of a fridge freezer and secure garden for dogs being highlights. However, some guests suggest improvements such as more secure gates, a washing machine, and minor maintenance in the bathroom, leading to a slightly lower score.

The thoughtfulness of the hosts is evident through mentions of welcome packs with treats for both guests and pets. While these gestures are highly appreciated, it is noted that such treats are a kind gesture and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

Garden was perfect for our inquisitive Cockapoo. With gate closed it was pretty secure. Lovely log burner and we enjoyed sitting in the conservatory watching the numerous birds at the feeder. Shower was a bit hit and miss, not always the warmest. And we would have preferred a washing machine to a dishwasher but apart from this we had a wonderful stay and would definitely return to Hafod cottage. The welcome treats for us and the dog were much appreciated.

I found everything to be of a high standard: good hot shower, rooms tastefully furnished and the kitchen very well equipped. The milk and treats were much enjoyed - thank you. The enclosed garden (with the gate shut) was great for the dog and the heated conservatory looked out toward Snowdonia with stunning sunrises. The beach, harbour, shops, pub and chippy are just 0.8 miles down the road. (Free carpark in the village). I’d also recommend the local dairy vending machine for fresh milk from a hut near to the Gadlys hotel just outside Cemaes and, further up the road, a visit to the oldest church in Wales. I had a lovely stay here and will definitely be returning - which says it all really. Thank you, Mandy.
