About this property

Llangefni 4 miles. Yr Erw is a traditional, detached country cottage nestled in Paradwys near Llangefni, Anglesey (Ynys Môn). Settled in a rural location with a large, enclosed garden with an orchard, this lovely dwelling offers a family of four off-road parking for two cars, plenty of living space, and a great base for touring Anglesey and North Wales. Leave your shoes and coats in the porch before making yourself at home in the sitting room. Choose from a selection of books or switch on the Smart TV, then sink into the leather sofa by the warmth of the woodburning stove; the patio door leading out to the garden brings in plenty of natural light. You'll love sitting out on summer evenings with a cold beverage, whilst the lawn and orchard provide plenty of space for games, picnics, and whiling away the hours in the sunshine. Back inside, the cottage-style kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher; everything you need to prepare home cooking for your loved ones! Tuck into breakfast at the table for four or just next door in the living/dining room with a table with bench seating, as well as another sitting area overlooking the garden to enjoy a moment's peace. Freshen up in the cloakroom or climb the stairs to find the family bathroom to soak in the tub or rinse in the shower over. Both bedrooms, a double and a twin, have been thoughtfully appointed with storage space, bedside lamps, and offer rural views of the countryside and your private garden. Explore your tranquil surroundings, whether that's a quiet country walk, dining out at Tafarn Y Rhos or stocking up at the convenience store in the nearby Bethel. The county town of Llangefni has plenty to offer all guests such as Y Becws Mefus for pies and pastry, The Foundry Vaults pub, and Oriel Môn to discover local history and heritage; find lovely walks and local wildlife through The Dingle (Nant-y-Pandy) Nature Reserve. For days along the coast, you'll have Newborough (Niwbwrch) nearby with the spectacular Traeth Llanddwyn or head to the east coast for Benllech and Red Wharf Bay. Elsewhere on the island, Pili Palas Nature World, the National Trust's Plas Newydd House and Gardens, and the historic town of Beaumaris with its impressive, 13th-century castle offer fun-filled days out. Be sure to spend day exploring the bustling town of Holyhead with the Anglesey coastal path, Ucheldre Centre, and Holyhead Maritime Museum offer something for everyone, but if you're seeking the great outdoors, the coastal park of Parc Arfordirol Penrhos and Breakwater Country Park (Parc Gwledig Morglawdd Caergybi) are both nearby for walking, fishing and wildlife watching! Perhaps you'll fit in a day trip to Dublin, or head across the Menai Bridge to Bangor, the royal town of Caernarfon, and Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park? A staycation at Yr Erw is sure to be an unforgettable Anglesey adventure.

Llangefni, a significant market town on the banks of the River Cefni, features several historical buildings, including the Town Hall and clock tower, along with shops, taverns, restaurants and an art gallery. Llangefni is 7 kilometres from the magnificent beaches of Benllech and Red Wharf Bay, with miles of sandy coastline. The adjacent beaches are great for families, with safe, shallow seas. On the island are Beaumaris, the Sea Zoo, Pili Butterfly Palace and Plas Newydd, while on the mainland are Penrhyn Castle, Bodnant Gardens and the breathtaking backdrop of Eryri (Snowdonia).

Lovely quiet rural setting. Great location for exploring all of Angelsey‘S delights.

The only downside was no washing machine facility. I would change the dishwasher for a washing M/C, being elderly I find washing dishes easy theraputic and cannot understand the need for a dishwasher. The owners were very courteous and helpful.

Cottage and gardens really were beautiful and the farmyard opposite was very entertaining watching the cows who acted like a family group. Peace a quiet and so relaxing listening to all the different birds singing all day. Great base for exploring the Island and so secluded. Will definitely return.
