About this property

Enjoying the countryside in Trefdraeth near Malltraeth , Anglesey is this fantastic, single-storey stable conversion of Talcaen Stabal. The barn conversion offers a family of four or two couples an idyllic base, resting moments away from Anglesey's best sights as well as the mainland, where Eryri (Snowdonia) can be easily reached. After parking up in the private parking area, head inside the quaint home-from-home to find a charming open-plan living space. Kick back and relax in the sitting area, where a spacious corner sofa allows you to unwind as you watch a show on the Smart TV. After relaxing for a while, make your way over to the kitchen, a space featuring stylish wooden cabinetry, topped with granite worktops, along with ample appliances for a self-catering stay. After whipping up a culinary delight here, enjoy it at the dining table over a glass of wine, or take it out to the patio and enjoy an alfresco dinner by the flickering flames of the fire pit. Once you've finished dinner, progress to another sitting room, where even more seating awaits for you to curl up on as you enjoy a movie night together. When the day comes to an end, retreat to one of the two well-presented bedrooms, with the first of these offering a king-size which benefits from a Smart TV and a superb en-suite bathroom, and the latter containing twins with access to an en-suite shower room. Completing the property's facilities is the fabulous hot tub in the patio; the perfect place to enjoy a soothing dip in after a day of exploring the sights. When it comes to nearby sights, you're in luck, thanks to the delights of Malltraeth Marsh, where you can enjoy walking and birdwatching, Newborough Forest, a nature reserve packed with woodland and dunes for you to discover, along with Llanddwyn beach, where you can enjoy sunbathing and watersports. The owners have a brilliant ice cream dairy on-site, where you can sample a sweet treat before venturing to Bethel to find a convenience store selling essentials, along with the Anglesey Mode Village & Cafe. The owners will fill the freezer full of different flavours of luxury ice cream for you to enjoy. Venture to Llangefni, a bustling town hosting the wonders of The Dingle Nature Reserve, the winding river of Afon Cefni and Oriel Mon. Spend some time exploring the Isle of Anglesey Coast Path, where the destinations of Trearddur Bay, South Stack, Rhosneigr, Cemaes Bay and so much more await! A fantastic stay awaits you and your loved ones at Talcaen Stabal. .

The small village of Malltraeth lies in the south west corner of Anglesey, at the head of the long inlet formed by the Cefni Estuary and close to the popular Newborough Forest and Warren sand dunes. Malltraeth Pool and the magnificent sweep of marshes and sand dunes, which stretch south to Llanddwyn Island, are all part of a National Nature Reserve. The whole area is renowned for its birdlife and Malltraeth was once home to the famous wildlife artist Charles F Tunnicliffe. There are wonderful forest and coastal walks from the village, which has a pub, a cafe serving afternoon tea and a chip shop (also selling basic items/newspapers etc). Close by are beautiful beaches at Llanddwyn (reputedly the 4th best in Britain), Aberffraw, and Cable Bay, or head to Rhosneigr, which is renowned for its all year round watersports facilities.

Most places we visited were only 15 mins away, making it a nice relaxing holiday. Helen was lovely and friendly and always on hand if needed and also gave ideas on locations to visit which helped us plan our week. The children enjoyed playing with the dogs on site, we made good use of the hot tub and fire pit. The ice cream is wonderful, a great selection and vegan as well as dairy options which is a winner for us! Looking forward to visiting again.

From a very warm welcome to entering the beautiful cottage we felt relaxed and very comfortable. The cottage is furnished to a very high standard with every requirement you would need and is spotlessly clean. Helen the owner is very easy to chat to and is on hand should any other things be needed. The photographs do not do this cottage justice. There is also a private outside area with hot tub, BBQ, fire pit and seating. Thank you too Helen for the home made ice cream which is made on site. The creamiest ice cream we have ever tasted and such delicious flavours. We will certainly revisit this cottage again in the future.

Nothing too much trouble, will hopefully return later in the year. Perfect place to wind down and chill no matter what the weather, and 5 stars for the lovely ice cream
