About this property

Perched in the charming location of Beaumaris on Anglesey, is this sleek single-storey, detached cottage, The Old Tannery. Welcoming four guests, The Old Tanner enjoys close proximity to a range of amenities and a beach, an enclosed garden as well as a delightful open-plan interior; the perfect base to explore all that Anglesey has to offer. Enter your new abode into the kitchen area, equipped with a great range of high-quality appliances sure to excite any budding chef; relax on the plush sofas in the warmth of a woodburning fire as your other half whips up tasty delicacies to relish at the dining table. When the weather permits, why not venture outside to delight in alfresco mealtimes and soak up the last of the sun’s rays? When the sky grows dark, retreat to a stunning family bathroom to indulge in a long soak in the bath; with the added luxury of a TV, you’re guaranteed to feel relaxed. Choose from two beautifully-appointed bedrooms including a king-size and a twin, ideal for catering to flexible sleeping arrangements, to catch your sleep in. If you can tear yourself away from this homely cottage, take a stroll into the main town of Beaumaris where you can tour the grounds of the Beaumaris Castle, immerse yourself in Victorian history at the Beaumaris Gaol and Court, or enjoy a walk along the infamous Beaumaris Pier; with Seacoast Safaris departing from the coast, you can visit Puffin Island and spend the afternoon spotting a range of marine life including seals, birds, porpoise or even dolphins. Spend the day on the sandy mounds at Llanddona Beach or visit Menai Bridge to see Pili Palas Nature World, Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens and of course, walk along the renowned Menai Suspension Bridge, a great spot to admire the surrounding views. Whether its coast or country you are seeking, experience it all from the appealing base of The Old Tannery.

The most beautiful sunrises may be seen in Beaumaris, a well-known ancient town on the Isle of Anglesey that is situated on the Menai Strait and overlooks the Snowdonia Mountain range. It is also well-known as a significant hub for sailing, with its Edward I-era mediaeval castle (now a World Heritage site) and Victorian pier, jail, and courthouse. With a long history, Beaumaris still has a lot of its original mediaeval street layout, making a fascinating place for a break at any time of year.

Everything you need for a very comfortable stay. The welcome basket was great, perfect for us getting there a little later at night - gave us the essentials that meant we could have a cuppa and breakfast the next morning (and then do a full shop!). The Old Tannery is so quiet and yet so central. We would not hesitate for a second to re book.

The cottage was so clean on arrival, had everything you could need for your stay, the welcome pack included some wonderful Welsh cakes and Welsh butter that was delicious. The cottage was so warm and cosy which was very welcome with the weather we had! If the weather has been kinder the garden would have been lovely to sit out in. The location was perfect, a few minutes walk took you to the lovely town of Beaumaris. Even when we went out for the day no where was more than 30 minutes drive. I can imagine in high season parking might be an issue but we found a spot each time on the same street, the large grassy car park if needed was only a few minutes walk too.

The place we stayed in was like a home from home. So clean and it had everything we needed. The garden was also a fantastic place to relax and enjoy. We will definitely be going back and we have also mentioned it to all family and friends. Thankyou for a fantastic break
