About this property

Amlwch 2.4 miles. West Lighthouse Keeper's Cottage is a delightful bungalow, perched on a headland with views across the Irish sea, resting upon the Isle of Anglesey. Sympathetically-restored, West Lighthouse Keeper's Cottage features some of its original and traditional furnishings, whilst providing a family of six with a well-equipped base, located in Llaneilian near Amlwch. During any time of year, you are sure to get fantastic views from this abode, with some sightings of dolphins, porpoises, seals, and sea birds, enveloping the home. Step indoors and reach the kitchen/diner, complete with all the necessary appliances and utensils for a self-catered stay; prepare and enjoy meals together or set the patio table to relish in an alfresco barbecue. The sitting room has been carefully thought out with plush seating, a lovely woodburning stove, and TV for entertainment, where you can while the night away and plan your impending itinerary. Three well-appointed bedrooms await, including a double with en-suite, a further double, and a twin, whilst a sleek bathroom with roll-top bath and walk-in shower serves the rest of the home. For your nearest hub of amenities, head into nearby Amlwch where you can stock up on the essentials and dine out, whilst a short car journey away will bring you to the breath-taking bay of Llaneilian, where you can enjoy a dip or simply a relaxing day out. Resting in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, be sure to pack your walking boots for an afternoon of birdwatching, hiking, and exploring, with Mynydd Parys a recommended stop off. Ornithologists will delight in spotting Wheateaters, Choughs, and Stonechats. The local beach, which can be seen to the left, just prior to the private drive up the peninsula to the Lighthouse, is a hidden gem called Traeth Eilan. Just a 10 minute walk from the property, this stunning rocky beach is reminiscent of a smugglers cove, with rugged cliffs protecting this secluded cove and providing mill-pond conditions, perfect for your morning wild swim, paddle board adventures or sea kayaking. With plenty of attractions near the border into mainland North Wales, make memories as a family by visiting the likes of Beaumaris, Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, and Bangor, before returning home for supper. Enjoy the coast and country at West Lighthouse Keeper's Cottage. Note: This property can be booked with Ref. 1140456, together sleeping up to 12 guests.

The small seaside town of Amlwch lies on the north eastern corner of Anglesey, in a stunning coastal location. With an affluent mining history, the village now plays host to numerous activities and attractions, making it the ideal location for a family holiday. Discover the history of Amlwch and its copper mining tradition on the Heritage Copper Trail, part of the beautiful 125 mile coastal path that winds its way along the coast of Anglesey, or visit the Old Mine Works at Mynydd Parys, and see the red, yellow and purple rocks, which some say resemble the surface of the Moon. For lovers of fishing and golf, both are available in Amlwch, with the Bull Bay Golf Club close by, and sea fishing a very popular pastime. Take the ferry to Dublin and spend a day enjoying Irish life, or stay on Anglesey and make the most of one of the beautiful beaches on offer. No matter what your preference, you're sure to have a wonderful time in this lovely seaside location.

It has everything that you need for your stay. There was even a real Christmas tree in the lounge, lovely! The milk in the fridge and christmas treats provided by the new owners upon arrival were very welcome. A place to definitely return to again.
