About this property

Set in the centre of Llanfechell, a quaint village in Anglesey, is this traditional two-bedroom cottage, 6 Mountain Road. Well-positioned near local amenities, the beach, and boasting an open-plan living layout, the cottage is perfect for a family, looking for a Welsh getaway, nestled by both the countryside and coast. Arriving to roadside parking, make your way towards 6 Mountain Road and its characterful exterior, before entering the open-plan space; relax in the sitting room with a coffee in hand, with a backdrop of exposed beams, set the table for a family feast, and take advantage of the well-equipped kitchen, perfectly appointed for a self-catering stay. To the rear, discover a private garden with outdoor furniture, providing the ideal area for some fresh air and sun rays; the ground-floor is completed with a cloakroom, within easy reach of your social hub. Before a day of exploration, opt for some rest, by travelling to two spacious bedrooms, offering flexible sleeping arrangements; you’ll be greeted by a double and a twin, alongside a contemporarily finished shower room, idyllic for a morning refresh, before grabbing some breakfast and heading into the village. Within Llanfechell itself you will find Y Cefn Glas, perfect for a delicious bite to eat or an evening tipple, the local post office for stocking up on the essentials, and an array of small businesses, whilst you’ll be a short stone’s throw away from the shoreline of Cemaes Bay, and the prime attractions of Anglesey. Perfect for the entire family, head to Pili Palas Nature World, displaying a range of tropical species, plan a sunny day out on the Big Beach of Cemaes Bay, or take a stroll around the coastal path of Caergybi Breakwater Country Park. Travelling to Holyhead, you’ll be welcomed by further activities, including tours of Holyhead Maritime Museum, an idyllic picture opportunity at Holyhead Breakwater Lighthouse, and guided routes along the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path, covering 200 kilometres. Accessible by car, trek around Aber Falls and its flowing waters, embark on a hike up Mynydd Parys, or enjoy a historical trip to The Amlwch Port Windmill, homing Melin Y Borth, a 60 feet windmill, set amongst the rolling hills of North Wales. Make some nature-filled memories by booking 6 Mountain Road.

Llanfechell is a small settlement on Anglesey's northern coast, one and a half miles from Cemaes Bay, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village takes its name from the neighbouring 12th-century Mechell Church, which has been expanded over the years and is thought to be the burial place of St Mechell. The ancient Parys Mountain copper mines, with their lunar-like scenery, are seven miles away, and the area is popular with geologists and archaeologists because of the rock formations at Mechell Mountain and the numerous ancient monuments scattered about, claimed to be some of the world's oldest. A rural bar in Llanfechell provides traditional beers and offers a friendly welcome.

Beautiful little home with all the amenities you could need, little shop just a few doors down, a pub on the corner which also sells food and a beach just a short drive away, would definitely recommend

The welcoming touches provided by Mark and Denise (wine, cheese and biscuits, chocolates etc) were a lovely surprise and greatly appreciated after our journey, The cottage is lovely, clean and tastefully decorated with good facilities and a nice little back garden with garden furniture to sit and have a meal on a warm sunny day. The surrounding coastline views are stunning I.e Camaes Bay, Bull Bay, Amlwch Port etc. We loved our stay, so much so that we went back to the same cottage for another week a month later. We intend to book a 2 week stay in 2023.
