Guests say

Leven Lodge 2 offers a cosy and homely retreat in a superb location close to Loch Lomond, ideal for peaceful getaways and dog walks. Guests frequently praise the proximity to the loch, the comfortable atmosphere, and the helpfulness of the hosts. While many found the lodge clean and well-equipped, some noted issues with maintenance, cleanliness, and the hot tub. Occasional thoughtful touches such as breakfast items were appreciated, though not always present. Overall, the property provides a relaxing base for exploring the area, with most guests enjoying their stay despite a few concerns.

Several guests found the lodge clean and tidy, but there were repeated mentions of cobwebs, dirty hot tubs, stained linens, and, in one case, mouse droppings. Cleanliness standards appear inconsistent, with some guests very satisfied and others disappointed.

The location is consistently praised as excellent, with easy access to Loch Lomond, nearby towns, and walking routes. Guests loved the peaceful setting and proximity to local amenities.

Many guests described the lodge as cosy and comfortable, but there were complaints about uncomfortable beds, sofas, and heating issues. Most guests settled in well, but comfort could be improved.

Facilities such as the hot tub and kitchen were appreciated, but several reviews noted maintenance issues, broken appliances, and poorly equipped kitchens. Some guests experienced problems with heating, lighting, and external areas.

Some guests received thoughtful touches like breakfast cereals, jams, and refreshments, which were appreciated. However, these are not guaranteed for every stay, and a few guests noted missing or insufficient supplies.

Location was excellent - only a short stroll from a secluded part of Loch Lomond. Unfortunately when we arrived there wasn't a high chair or cot for our daughter but luckily we'd brought ours from home. The next morning we saw mouse droppings and to the owner's credit they sent someone over straight away to clean and put some poison under the sink. Unfortunately we saw fresh droppings every day whilst we were there. We had our 2 year old with us so we asked them to clean every day but it wasn't done to a very good standard and I ended up feeling quite uncomfortable staying there. We were really quite disappointed considering the price we paid.

A lovely little lodge in a good location. We had an issue with the bed as the base had broken. This was sorted out quickly and apologetically and we slept ok afterwards. The duvet however was not big enough and did not cover the sides. We got round this by using one of the single duvets. This aside, which to be fair was dealt with, the property was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The hot tub was a nice touch too. Plenty of parking and two excellent meals at the restaurant on site. We would come again.

We enjoyed our stay and the lodge was clean and comfortable. The negative points may possibly be out of your control, however I’ll highlight them to you. The wall adjacent to the lodge was unsafe and there wasn’t an appropriate safety cordon to prevent access. We had talked to the man who was working on the job and he later put out some safety barriers, however they were only low plastic barriers and this wouldn’t stop children from retrieving a ball etc. From a health and safety perspective this area needed to be securely fenced off to prevent any access. ( The danger of severe injury or death was high in my opinion )The road outside the lodge was in a terrible condition and was full of pot holes which filled with water and the mud around the front of the lodge was an issue as it was hard to avoid whilst accessing and leaving the lodge. ( This was also making causing us to have excessively dirty footwear and dog paws )The lid to the hot tub was extremely difficult to remove and replace due to the tight fitting frame work. We appreciated the privacy it gave us, however it didn’t help my back and shoulders when dealing with it.We really appreciated the breakfasts cereals, jams, milk, refreshments the spice rack and lots of fresh clean towels was fantastic, and not forgetting a comfy bed and Sky tv.We would be happy to return here.
