About Stronachlachar Lodge

Peacefully situated on the banks of Loch Katrine in The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, Stronachlachar Lodge is located on the pier from where the Sir Walter Scott steamship departs on its daily trips around the loch. Ideal for larger families, walkers, cyclists or fishing breaks, the Lodge is furnished and presented to a luxurious standard throughout and sits in a beautiful garden which leads down to the lochside. The nearby cafe on the pier serves excellent food and drink, and also rents out boats for fishing trips.

The local village of Aberfoyle offers a wide choice of amenities including pubs, restaurants, shops and many golf courses can be found closeby. The Lodge also benefits from discounted weekly family membership of the local MacDonald Forest Hills Hotel's swimming pool and gym which is located a ten minute drive away. Guests also receive a 10% discount off spa treatments and food at the hotel. 

Inside

The living room provides plenty of space for all guests to unwind and is furnished with three double settees, two armchairs, a large wall mounted LCD TV with Freesat connection and an 8kw wood burner stove. The kitchen/ dining area is open plan and includes a double dining table with twelve chairs and four spare. An additional 12kw wood burner helps keep the room warm and the self catering amenities include a Bosch Tassimo Coffee Machine. The kitchen is also well equipped with a built in washing machine, dishwasher, American style fridge/ freezer, two integrated microwave ovens, a six gas burner stove and large double oven/ grill. 

The games room is perfect for keeping all ages entertained and has a 7ft x 4ft "sleight bed" pool table along with a wide range of board games, books, a stereo, CDs and refrigerated drinks unit. The accommodation also includes a hall with a range of brown teak solid mango furniture, associated lighting and a range of local photography by Francis Firth displayed on the walls to inspire your travels. 

Bedrooms / Bathrooms

First floor:

Bedroom one - our largest bedroom which boasts magnificent views over the loch. This bedroom is furnished with a super-king size solid oak bed, matching bedside tables, drawer units and double wardrobe the bed is dressed in Plumb Manhattan, a 13.5 tog goose feather duvet and six pillows.

Bedroom two - a light and spacious twin bedroom with single oak beds and matching storage. The beds are dressed in Green Athens, a 13.5 tog goose feather duvet and two pillows. 

Bedroom three - a double bedroom with king size mahogany sleigh bed, matching side tables, reading lights, drawer unit and double wardrobe. 

Family bathroom - a spacious and luxurious space with roll top bath and shower attachment, WC, hand basin, separate shower cubicle and electric under floor heating. 

Shower room - with large shower cubicle, WC, hand basin and electric under floor heating.

Second floor:

Bedroom four - a beautiful double bedroom with balcony overlooking the loch, king size pine bed with matching side tables, reading lights, drawer unit and double wardrobe. The bed is dressed in Teal Athens and a 13.5 tog goose feather duvet and six pillows. 

Bedroom five - a double bedroom with pine bed, matching furniture and an ensuite with freestanding shower unit, WC and hand basin. This room also has space for a cot if you need it and the bed is dressed in Teracotta Paris and a 13.5 tog goose feather duvet plus four pillows. 

Bedroom six - a stylish twin bedroom with two solid oak single beds, matching bed side tables, a drawer unit and double wardrobe. The beds are dressed in Chocolate Athens, a 13 tog goose feather duvet and two pillows. 

Shower room - a modern space with shower cubicle, WC, hand basin and electric underfloor heating.

Outside

The Upper Garden is located next to the house and has a large lawn area with wooden bench with charcoal BBQ. The Lower Garden can be found at the front of the house and leads down Loch Katrine. There are two patio areas, a further lawn area and beautiful views over the Loch. Plenty of car parking is also provided at the property.

Other Things to Note

A cot and high chair are provided for families and the rental charge also includes electricity, full gas central heating, bed linen, towels and unlimited fuel for the log burner fires.  

The property offers non-smoking accommodation.

The maximum number of guests occupying or visiting the property must not exceed twelve adults plus two infants unless prior consent is obtained from the owners. No large gatherings (weddings, parties) are permitted and no structures such as marquees/ tents are to be erected in the grounds. 

Coffee lovers should note they are required to bring their own cartridges for the Tassimo machine. 

Availability

Discounts may be available for last minute bookings within two weeks of arrival. 

Short breaks of three nights or more can be taken between November and March (except Christmas/ New Year).

The preferred changeover day is Saturday although we can be flexible - please contact us. Check in time is after 3pm and please vacate by 10am on your departure day. 

Well behaved pets are welcome by prior arrangement - please contact us to discuss.
