Explore the village, where you can dine at the Shutters Restaurant and the Capercaillie Restaurant and Bar, stock up on essentials at the convenience store, visit the fascinating remains of Finlairg Castle, test out your swing at the excellent Killin Golf Club, or embark on a scenic hike through the Ben Lawers National Nature Reserve. Your exceptional location offers a wealth of scenic walking and cycling trails, as well as the peaks of Ben More and Ben Vorlich, which boast incomparable views at their top. Continue onto Aberfeldy, home to the Aberfeldy Golf Club, an art gallery, the charming Aberfeldy Watermill Bookshop and Café, and the popular Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery, where you can tour and taste the renowned whiskey. Pitlochry awaits, with its Atholl Palace Museum, Black Castle Ruins, Pitlochry and Moulin Heritage Centre, and Pitlochry Festival Theatre, and the bustling city of Perth makes for a great day trip, where you can tour The Black Watch Castle Museum, and the Pert Museum & Art Gallery, visit the Huntingtower Castle, or time your visit right to attend the Perth Races in September. All this and more awaits at Lochay Chalet.

Killin, in the Breadalbane district, is located on the outskirts of Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, and across from the breathtaking Falls of Dochart. Stone circles and cup patterns on rocks attest to the presence of a long-ago civilization in this region. St. Fillan, who brought Christianity to Breadalbane in the eighth century, is honoured with a mill that bears his name and with a holiday celebrated annually on the third Tuesday of January. Two prominent families have deep ties to the town: the Campbells and the MacNab. Near the bridge over the falls is the ancient MacNab burial cemetery of Inchbuie, and to the north of the settlement is Finlarig Castle, the Campbell stronghold. The popularity of Killin as a tourist attraction can be directly attributed to the many media productions that have made use of the waterfalls there. As well as its proximity to Loch Tay, the community also boasts a wide variety of restaurants, taverns, and shops. Killin is surrounded on all sides by mountains that are perfect for hiking, including Ben Lawers to the north, Ben More to the west, and Stobinian to the west.

Peace The guy we met Tom was very kind and helpful I was going to ask if he did let the cottage for longer term in winter However I had to leave a day earlier than expected as I had to get back to Nottingham for a serious hospital appt The place was so beautiful. It gave me A mystical feeling of freedom and the start of my recovery from a terrible experience Thankyou Michelle Creed
