Looking for a location for my 50th birthday, I came across Callander House and was blown away by the website images and video. It is not cheap but my (wonderful) husband was adamant that we were booking it as soon as I wrote down "wow" against my pros/cons versus another possible location. We have booked various castle locations for "big birthdays" over the past 20 years but you will never find anything like Callander House. The owners' own pop-artwork and designer clothing is in evidence throughout the property, mixed with wonderful object d'art which you will keep spotting during the stay. The creative style of the owners is unique and makes a fascinating conversation piece with all the guests. All the rooms are individual and the bathrooms are outstanding. The copper bath is a showstopper. Downside is that most guests need to share bathrooms (although they are amazing, most people are not used to that when staying away) but its a worthwhile compromise. The bar room was the hub of our evenings, with people drinking & chatting while some played pool and others were dancing and signing. It really is an amazing party room. The kids enjoyed the cinema in the turret, keeping them quiet! We did a mix of self catering and private chef. The chef did interactive cooking with the kids (they loved it) and the formal adults dinner was superb. Euan the housekeeper was fantastic throughout : taking delivery/unpacking supermarket delivery pre our arrival, he also manned our bar on our cocktail evening & served the bubbly pre-dinner drinks as well as the wine at our black tie dinner. The housekeeping was very efficient too. I'm sure Nikki & Stuart are incredibly proud of their home and they have every right to be. They are obviously wonderfully creative in many ways (even down to the wonderful scents emanating from the diffusers). Thank you so much for allowing us to share this for a wonderful long weekend with the people that I love most in this world - my friends & family x

We rented Callander House or a long weekend of celebrations, birthdays with '0's. Its absolutely fabulous. Words can not tell you what a fabulous space this is for gathering friends and family. We scottish danced, we had a fabulous dinner, we walked with the local Ghillie, had falconry from Loch Lomond at the Castle, and the Unicorn Experience. The catering chefs produced lovely food for us and the house manager is absolutely amazing. 5 stars at least this deserves. thank you to the owners for opening up their special home so we could enjoy it.

We had the pleasure of spending the weekend at Callander House for my wife’s surprise birthday. My wife, our friends and our family that came with us were blown away by the house. Everything about the house is perfect, from the huge dining room that seated our group of 24, to the amazing bar area where we had a band playing and held a wine tasting, to the uniquely decorated bedrooms, to the cinema on the top floor, to the beautiful library........ this house is exquisite. With the combination of Nikki’s interior touch and Stuart’s artwork the house keeps you intrigued from room to room. Nikki organised Clay Pigeon shooting and fishing for the guys. The girls had masseuses come to the house for massages and we had the legendary Jack Black come to dinner on Saturday evening to tell the story of Scotland. I couldn’t recommend Callander House highly enough. This house will suit any special occasion. We can’t wait to come back. Thanks so much for sharing your home with us.
