Set in the midst of fabulous rolling countryside with far reaching views over the surrounding hills, this comfortable, contemporary, semi-detached apartment is adjacent to the owners’ home. Single-storey, it is situated on the edge of a smallholding with sheep, midway between the picturesque market town of Biggar and the small village of Broughton, 3 miles away and home of Broughton Brewery and a tea room, doubling as a local pub at the weekend.
There is good walking and cycling from the doorstep with Broughton Heights and Trahenna Hill well worth the climb for the glorious views. Biggar has a great selection of excellent local food producers and hosts a surprising range of events throughout the year. Peebles, 15 miles away has good restaurants, galleries and independent shops. Glentress mountain bike trails are 17 miles away and Innerleithen 21½ miles. Edinburgh, using the park and ride, is a day’s entertainment while Glasgow is equally easily enjoyed. Fishing can be found nearby. Shop and restaurant 4½ miles, pub 3 miles.

Firstly a very big thankyou to Mr & Mrs Cunningham for their friendliness,graciousness & patience with our newly adopted dog.The cottage is superb.Clean,warm,very comfortable with excellent appliances etc.The shower is particularly nice.The cottage fills 2 boxes.If like us you want a peaceful break to just enjoy the sunrise,grazing sheep & horses & a fantastic starlit sky then it's a great choice.Equally it's ideally situated for visiting neighbouring towns or farther afield should you wish.Must also mention do visit the local community run shop.Everything you could want all crammed in!Smashing!We noted in the Guestbook that previous people had stayed more than once we would happily return ourselves.Cannot speak more highly of Blueacres & their Customer Choice Award is richly deserved.

Sitting outside listening to nature at its best was a real tonic & even better when the horses, sheep & goats made an appearance. The location was very rural so no local amenities but that didn't bother us as we spent all day visiting different towns.The house is very nice but not having a wardrobe only door hooks was a bit of a surprise. We felt that the lack of the little touches let the owners down ie. no replenishment of everyday kitchen items that we had to purchase & had always been supplied in the many other properties we have stayed in. There was a few other points but what we found to be not to our liking could easily be ok for someone else.
