We recently stayed at Holly Lodge in Gadgirth Estate Lodges, and I honestly can’t express enough how enjoyable the experience was for both us and our dog. From the moment we arrived—an hour early, I should add—there was absolutely no issue getting the keys. We were warmly welcomed by Karen, who is clearly a dog owner and genuine dog lover. Our dog settled in immediately and made himself right at home.Each morning the dog and I explored the beautiful woods behind the lodge, which he loved sniffing out the scents of the deer that roam the estate. The nearby river is stunning too—I can only imagine how perfect it must be in summer for a swim or a relaxing stroll.The lodge itself exceeded our expectations. It was far more spacious than anticipated, spotlessly clean, cosy, and always warm. The log fire was a lovely bonus, creating the perfect atmosphere, and we especially appreciated the readily available supply of logs. The kitchen was well-equipped with good-quality utensils, pots, and pans, cups and kettles—everything we needed was right there.The hot tub was another highlight. It was amazing to relax in, and it was clear that cleanliness and water safety are taken very seriously, as it was checked and treated daily. It was a pleasure to relax in this in the cold December evening.The bathroom facilities were excellent—the shower was powerful and refreshing, and the ensuite bath was large and perfect for unwinding.We also found a handy Premier shop in Annbank, only a five-minute drive away, with a great range of essentials.Overall, we had a fantastic, affordable stay. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Gadgirth Estate Lodges, especially Holly Lodge for anyone travelling with their dog. We’re already hoping to return next year!
