This is a lovely rustic little cottage with amazing views over the loch. It is not five star luxury but we found it comfortable enough and homely. Edward the owner is lovely and is trying his best to reinvest the income from these properties to upgrade the estate, some parts do need improvement but it is a huge undertaking and will take time. The neighbors in the bungalow next door were very friendly and their eggs were super fresh. This was our second stay as an extended family in various parts of the property and we have had an excellent time on both occasions. We would definitely return.

Foumartdean Cottage is lovely peaceful place to stay - and to return to after a day out.Walkers on the Pennine Way or St Cuthbert's Way would probably use a car to get to their starting point(s) as their are no footpaths across the farmland between the cottage and Town Yetholm.

Fabulous location, wonderful views , not ideal for walking a dog into the local villages as we had intended.A basic welcome pack to include staples: tea, coffee, sugar, milk and particularly toilet paper, are essentials, not luxuries.Instructions for kitchen appliances would be useful and a couple of folding chairs, for the back garden, would have been appreciated.
