Rock Cottage is set in a wonderful location. It's a quirky building and is very unique. It's very compact but is perfect for couples seeking a seaside getaway. The layout is unique, but you quickly get used to it. However, I'd avoid it if you've got mobility issues, as there are stairs inside and the bathroom is upstairs (bedroom downstairs). The view from the decking is gorgeous, with 2 comfy chairs and a table. The local people are friendly and welcoming. The harbour is busy during the day and very quiet at night, so you get the best of both worlds. The cottage has lots of crockery and kitchen bits to use. However, be aware it doesn't have a freezer (not enough space), just an ice box within the fridge. Just a pointer too, the fridge is connected to the oven master switch. We only realised after everything in the fridge/ ice box thawed, after turning the 'oven' off at the wall. The TV's were advertised as Smart TV's, the lounge TV is, but is old and wouldn't open any of the apps. The bedroom TV didn't have any smart features. The bed was super comfy though! Our getaway was very reasonably priced for 7 nights. The one thing I was disappointed in was the cleanliness. I won't go into any detail, but I couldn't settle until I'd cleaned a lot of the key (obvious) areas. The whole cottage could do with a deep clean. I am still willing to give 5*, due to the quirkiness and the location of the cottage. I wouldn't hesitate to book again, but I'd like to think there'd be more attention to detail with cleaning in the future. I'm already looking for dates later in the year!

Rock Cottage is a lovely place to stay right next to the harbour in the village of St Abbs. The cottage gives you access to coast walks and the lovely beach at Coldingham bay. The cottage is well equipped and lovely and clean.
