Gardener's Cottage in Duns is a well-received holiday rental, praised for its comfortable furnishings, peaceful and attractive surroundings, and pet-friendly environment. Guests that stayed at this property said

Reviews on cleanliness are mixed, with several guests finding the cottage clean and well-presented, while others noted it could benefit from a deeper clean and some refurbishment. The presence of both positive and negative comments suggests variability in experiences.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, proximity to local towns, and suitability for exploring the surrounding areas. The rural setting and quietness are consistent positives in guest feedback.

Guests generally find the cottage comfortable, with cosy furnishings and a warm atmosphere. However, some have suggested improvements to the mattresses and heating in certain rooms, indicating room for enhancement in overall comfort.

Facilities are deemed excellent by some, but others have reported maintenance issues such as broken appliances and the need for better lighting outside. The mixed feedback suggests that while the facilities meet needs, there is scope for improvement.

Many guests appreciated the thoughtful touches like welcome treats and well-stocked essentials. However, as these gifts are subject to change and may not be guaranteed for every stay, they are a delightful bonus rather than a standard provision.

The sofas and bed were really comfy, and the setting was so tranquil. We appreciated the info folder with all the local attractions/food places' brochures etc. We also thought the water bottle in the bedroom was a lovely touch. We definitely would love to return sometime!

It was clean and warm although upstairs was a bit cold as the bedroom wall heater was still broken. We took a fan heater with us anyway which helped to warm the room (there were also some in the cupboard to use). After about 5 minutes it warmed the room up and fortunately it wasn’t too cold weather wise. The cottage is handy for Berwick and getting into the A1 which was about a 10 minute drive away and it was about an hour to Edinburgh. We enjoyed our stay at Gardeners Cottage and it suited our purpose which was visiting family locally.

Owner contacted us and was accommodating regarding charging my car - thank you. Heater in our bedroom was broken by a previous person. The heater in the bathroom was broken and the Wi-Fi was very intermittent. Everything else was great - thank you.
