The space includes an open-plan living/dining room with a wood burner and two bedrooms, both served by a modern bathroom. The kitchen is well-equipped with a good level of appliances, and outside there is a garden and private parking. Duns Castle Nature Reserve is within walking distance, as is the town centre. Duns Castle is famous as the setting for the film ’Mrs Brown’ and as a wedding location for the footballer Robbie Fowler.
Duns is approximately 15 miles from the town of Berwick-upon-Tweed (which has a main line railway station) and 40 miles from Edinburgh. The local Borders towns of Kelso, Melrose and Jedburgh are steeped in history and well worth a visit. Just over the border you have the attractions of Etal and Ford. There are various activities available locally or further afield. Shop, pub and restaurant 300 yards.

What a lovely cottage, found it a had everything we needed for our week away. Lynda was very helpful. Rear garden has very nice sun trap for the afternoon. Will definitely return.

At first sight Cloud Cottage looks very inviting. It is only as you look around properly that you realise that it's starting to show considerable wear and tear and looks rather tired. For example, just about every strip of wallpaper is coming away at the seams, and the sofa and chairs no longer offer much support and will potentially give you either back ache or indigestion/heartburn. On the plus side, the beds are extremely comfortable, offering an excellent night's sleep. The kitchen is well equipped (but no serving spoons?!) and the outdoor spaces are well maintained. There were also lots of tourist information leaflets as well as DVDs and a few books to help keep you entertained. It seems rather unfair to criticise the decor given that it is usually the first thing to be damaged by paying guests and it may be that a complete redecoration is planned over the winter? The bungalow was warm and there was plenty of hot water, so on average I would say that this is a good holiday property but not exceptional.

A lovely characterful, comfortable and peaceful cottage. Convenient parking. Everything we needed was there. Easy walk to the shops and the lovely grounds of Duns Castle and lake. Lots of interesting places within easy driving distance. The owner was welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful. We had a lovely time there.
