About this property

A magnificent penthouse apartment within a converted church in the heart of the historic Quarriers Village. The apartment retains superb architectural features including magnificent arched stain glass windows and vaulted ceilings. Superbly finished to retain the characteristics whilst providing spacious and comfortable accommodation the apartment makes for a memorable holiday in a quiet and peaceful area but within easy reach of both Glasgow and Edinburgh and of course the Clyde Coast.

There is lift access from the ground floor to the penthouse and as you enter through into the hallway with its solid wood flooring leading into the quality accommodation you will be struck immediately by the peace and tranquillity of this luxurious setting. The spacious open plan living room/dining room provides for comfortable living whilst the superb roof top terrace gives an outstanding view over the surrounding area which can be enjoyed in the evenings or daytime whilst enjoying a glass of wine. The luxury finish of the kitchen extends to all fittings making it more than a home from home including top quality appliances and range cooker. Quarriers Village originated from William Quarriers vision to provide Christian care to orphaned and destitute children from Glasgow. The village was financed by donations from individual gifts often from barons of the industrial revolution. The first homes opened in 1778 and the village developed with spacious villas with private grounds making the overall estate a quiet, green and peaceful place to be. This character is still retained in the present day although most houses are now privately owned. Within the grounds of the village there is a a superb cafe, 3 Sisters Bake and a florists.

The location of the apartment is such that you can reach Glasgow and Glasgow Airport with twenty five minutes and fifteen minutes respectively alternatively if you would like to explore the local countryside you can do so by bike with direct access to one of Scotland's excellent cycle paths leading to either the local town of Bridge of Weir or through to Kilmacolm. The path can also be used for walking to Bridge of Weir which would take approximately twenty minutes. The bustling town has excellent outlets for retail and also food & drink. Quarriers Village is on the edge of the Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park which provides opportunities for walking and outdoor pursuits with excellent well marked routes in Scotland's largest Regional Park. The Clyde Coast is only about half an hour's drive with excellent access to sailing centres such as Inverkip and Largs. If you would like to arrange day trips to Bute or Arran then these can be easily taken from Wemyss Bay or Ardrossan.

Alternatively a reasonably short drive takes you across the Erskine Bridge and up to Loch Lomond side for superb views and walking including, if you like, the first part of the West Highland Way which runs up the eastern shore of Loch Lomond. A ferry from Greenoch takes you across to Dunoon and into the beautiful unspoilt area of the Cowl Peninsular, superb local pubs and shell fish. The Cowl Highland Games are well worth seeing and are normally held over three days towards the end of August each year.
