There are plenty of places to enjoy the views, either from the cathedral gardens or from the Taybank bar where you might be lucky enough to hear some impromptu music performed. The town itself dates from the 9th century and boasts a wealth of history from the Dark and Middle Ages to more recent history with Thomas Telford’s bridge over the Tay. The property is a short drive away from The Hermitage, a National Trust site of beautiful forest which contains Ossian’s Hall of Mirrors, a folly built as a tribute to the 3rd century blind poet Ossian on a rocky outcrop near the Black Linn waterfalls. With the Loch Of The Lowes nature Reserve nearby and also the Victorian village of Birnam with its famous Birnam Oak and a Beatrix Potter exhibition marking her regular visits to the village, this area is one of the most spectacular and varied in Scotland and well worth a visit. A wonderful Scottish home ideally located for exploring the beautiful heart of Scotland. EPC Rating: Band C

57pm, the cleaner was still making up the beds and asked us to go away and come back in 30 mins. I wasn't impressed with this. I had my 80-year-old mother with me, and it was cold and raining. We used the bathroom, and it was evident that it still had to be cleaned too. She apologised and said she'd only just arrived and was running late. We came back 30 mins later, and she was gone - not sure how she managed a proper clean in that time.... I stayed here last year and had a great time. This year, we had people above us, which was awful. Every step generates a loud sqweak, and we could hear the conversation above us. Definitely spoilt our stay. Inside property is looking tired. Huge piece of paint has come off bathroom window, grout on floor tiles is dirty and stained, rust marks over radiator- all make it a bit tired. Inside door of the fridge is broken, and further use in this state will make the shelf unusable. On entering the twin room, the bedside lamp on left side as you look in to the room isn't working. Kitchen and livingroom clocks not working - need batteries replaced. The rug in the livingroom in front of the fire is grubby. All wall hangings and light fittings need dusted. The srench coming from the hoover is awful. On arrival I needed to hoover the whole property as there was debris on the floors and i used floor wipes to clean mud marks up. Shouldn't have to do this on arrival.

It really is a home from home place and is very cosy and comfortable. It has a lovely garden and looks out over the River Tay. It is very central to all the shops, pubs, restaurants and walks in the area. Would definitely recommend this wee gem of a place.

It is so homely and has everything you need and the location couldn’t be better. We’re already looking at dates for the new year. We would highly recommend it.
