Situated in a quiet location in picturesque rural Perthshire and overlooking open countryside, Islabank Lodge is detached, single-storey and set in the grounds of the owner’s home; it has its own private garden and enjoys lovely views across fields to the hills beyond. Located just outside of Auchterarder, in rural Perthshire, but not far from the major road next work of central Scotland.The bright accommodation is beautifully presented throughout and provides an ideal base for couples or a family. A large entrance porch, with hanging space, is perfect for storing outdoor gear and has a tumble dryer, leads through to the main open plan living area, and French doors open onto the decking and to the garden - an ideal spot for al fresco dining or relaxing with a glass of wine. The main living area is very attractively presented and has a wood burning stove for cooler evenings and cosy seating. For preparing a family meal the kitchen is well equipped and there is a dining table. There are two attractive double bedrooms with colour co-ordinated soft furnishings, one with twin beds and one with king size bed and en suite shower room. A family bathroom completes the picture.
On the owner’s farm there are chickens and sheep in the fields and wild birds for nature lovers. There are numerous forest walks and mountain bike trails in the Ochil Hills for out door enthusiasts. Cyclists can also enjoy miles of wonderfully quiet roads in the most fabulous of settings in rural Perthshire. Nearby Auchterarder, with its mile long high street, has plenty of coffee shops, restaurants, interesting local shops, gallery and deli and local supermarket. Golfers are spoilt for choice, with the championship and well-known Gleneagles Golf Resort as well as Auchterarder and Stirling Golf Courses within a short drive and St Andrews just under an hour. For those who enjoy a “wee dram” there are several distilleries including Famous Grouse and Tullibardine Distillery Families will enjoy a trip to Blair Drummond Safari Park and Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre. For friends and family visiting students at Stirling University, or attending one of the graduation ceremonies the university is only 20 minutes’ drive. For days out the magnificent Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park can be reached in under an hour with breath-taking scenery, lochs, mountains and pretty village and outdoor activities for all.

The lodge sits in a lovely position with views over the hills. It is immaculate. The quality of the furniture and furnishings is excellent. The kitchen is also well provisioned and had a great view out to the field with sheep and chickens - very entertaining. The bedrooms have very comfortable beds and there is space to pop suitcases undeneath to keep the floors clear, although there is a huge utility area when you enter the lodge which would also accommodate bags, sports equipment etc.Our host was so charming and helpful.One of our party is very elderly. She found access to the lodge relatively easy with parking beside the entrance and only two steps up onto the entrance. Our weekend break was definitely made more special with the comfort of the lodge and the cosy log burner.We would highly recommend Islabank Lodge.

Excellent place to stay. Lodge was very clean and the owner was very friendly on arrival. We also saw her throughout our stay and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay there again.
