A lovely location on a beautiful island. Shame that the local bakery has just closed after 120 years and that the nearest butcher is now in Brodick. The shop at Pirnmill was great and so friendlyHouse was also great - I agree with the previous reviewer in that it is in need of an update and could we strongly recommend a Lakeland heated drying rail (I have no financial interest in Lakeland) as we could never dry our outdoor clothes and Storm Amy ensured we had wet clothes all weekIn a perfect world a second shower room would be helpful for 7 people. Luckily some of my family never get up early so we could stagger the washing

Having stayed at this property a few years ago- it is in need of some updating / maintenance. The conservatory doors are not secure and it leaks. Main bedroom bed is in need of some attention ! Would not return.

This is our third visit to Dunmaghlas and we had a fantastic two week stay with the most fabulous weather. There was only my husband and I for much of the time, along with our 2 Beagles but our son came for a few days after he visited Islay. The purpose of our holiday was to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary which we did over the weekend 16 - 18 May but we were at the Corrie Hotel to celebrate with family and friends. This was where we spent our honeymoon and they made us feel very welcome. Dunmaghlas was a great place for people to drop by whilst we were on the island. The house is in a great position, very quiet on a lovely stretch of coast and with the benefit of a shop and restaurant nearby. We will be back.
