Holmbyre Smithy is a spacious, detached cottage which is situated close to the town of Dalry, in rural Ayrshire with rolling hills and stunning coastline. In a riverside location, the cottage also boasts its very own private hot tub to relax in after a days exploring.
Ayrshire is home to the Ayrshire Coastal Path, a 100-mile long coastal walk with one of the finest panoramic coastlines in the British Isles. Crowned with a superb backdrop of the ever-changing profile of the mountains of Arran across the Firth of Clyde, this coastline is steeped in history and teeming with wildlife, including red squirrels, deer, otters and seals, and is a haven for bird watchers. Inland there are gardens and castles to visit, riding, racing and a choice of golf courses, with the world famous Turnberry close to hand. Culzean Castle (owned by the National Trust for Scotland) is spectacular and is Ayrshire’s most popular tourist attraction. Ayrshire is the heart of ’Burns’ Country’, steeped in tradition and history, visit Burns’ Cottage, The Burns’ Memorial Museum and the Brig o’ Doon, the bridge from the famous poem Tam o’ Shanter. Day trips to Ireland can be taken from Cairnryan, whilst a short drive leads to Ayr, a traditional seaside town. Glasgow and Edinburgh are easily reached for a day out. We enjoyed our stay at Holmbyre Smithy.The accommodation was lovely so comfortable and warm. It was lovely to sit out and toast marshmallow in the fire pit. The Hot tub was great.Eating breakfast outside listening to the stream was so relaxing.The Host Billy was very friendly and helpful.We would go back again and definitely recommend it to friends and family.There was just one little critique there was no chopping board which isn't a major problem but it would be very useful especially chopping lemons for our G&T's.

A lovely quiet location with a stream running by. Lovely hot tub and outdoor seating areas. Host could not have been more friendly and helpful. Would definately go back!
