About this property

Forres 2.6 miles. If you want to enjoy a rustic, Moray getaway, then look no further than this charming lodge which is for families or groups of up to five. After parking up behind the lodges, make your way to the middle lodge, walk up the shallow steps onto the decking, and take off your shoes as you step onto the oak flooring inside and are welcomed by a pleasant open plan studio with bed in the main room and, as you walk through the connecting door, a living area with separate bedroom. The kitchenettes on both sides provide a good selection of appliances, including a combi microwave/oven, with which to rustle up easy meals. When dinner is ready, dine together at the table inside while you enjoy the large south facing windows which frame the views outside or, during the warmer months, enjoy dinner on the decking. The living areas, with their sofas and big cushions, are great spots for unwinding with a glass of wine and catching up on the day's events together or just reading a good book. At the end of the day, snuggle up in one of the twin beds, or request in advance that they be zipped together to create a king. The sofa on the separate bedroom side is also a single bed, ideal for an extra child or guest. Blackout blinds will help you unwind during the short summer nights. Rounding off the property's interior are two fabulous wet rooms with walk-in shower, where you can enjoy rejuvenating hot showers while your towel heats up on the nearby rail. On site you can purchase home-made gourmet ready-meals and home grown fresh organic produce. Or indulge your curiosity and book in advance to try your hand at basket weaving, or to spend a fun, immersive morning, great for all ages, learning about birds and wildlife on the farm. Buy tickets to join others for a catered Pop-Up meal, or for a morning in a Mama Circle, or attend a craft & food fair on the farm. An extended network of local footpaths can be accessed a short walk from the farm by joining the Dava Way, which runs from Forres to Grantown-on-Spey, and which will also take you the short distance to Dallas Dhu distillery, one of the stops to visit for a tour and tipple along the famous Malt Whisky trail. Spend the day with your family on the beach at Findhorn, Hopeman or Roseisle, or any of many quiet sandy beaches all along the Moray coast. Start or end your day at the picturesque fishing village of Findhorn with its natural marina, pubs and award-winning slow food café. For something different, visit the Findhorn Foundation Eco-village, with its interesting history, range of quirky buildings and whole food shop. Immerse yourself in local woodlands surrounded by majestic oaks and pines or discover the stunning River Findhorn at Randoph’s Leap. Other local attractions include excellent fishing and golfing, mountain biking trails for all abilities, quiet roads for cycling, boat trips, dolphin watching, wild swimming and water sports. Within easy reach of the Highlands, Speyside and the beautiful Cairngorm National Park, a stay at Hazel allows you to explore Scotland like never before. Note: This property can be booked with Refs. 1085994, 1098003 and 1088673, together sleeping up to 12 guests.

Forres, one of Scotland's oldest tiny towns, is home to numerous historical landmarks, museums, and castles, as well as beautiful parks and gardens that have won numerous awards. Forres is a great beginning point for the Malt Whisky Trail because it is home to two distilleries and is only a short distance from five others! In addition to two golf courses, Forres is known for its fishing and other outdoor pursuits. Inverness, the Highlands' capital city, is only twenty-seven miles away, making it an excellent site from which to explore the charming fishing communities that dot the north east coast of Scotland. If you're a history buff, Cawdor and Brodie Castles are just a short drive away, as are Culloden Battlefield and Fort George.
