Guests say

Sheaf Dale is a charming cottage praised for its beautiful views, peaceful location, and welcoming gestures like tea and shortbread. Guests enjoy the hot tub and the property's spaciousness, though some noted issues with bed comfort and cleanliness. The local area offers lovely walks and friendly amenities.

Cleanliness received mixed reviews. Some guests found the cottage very clean, while others reported issues with shower cleanliness and mice presence. A deeper clean in certain areas was suggested.

The location is highly regarded for its beauty and tranquility, with easy access to beaches, walks, and local amenities. The proximity to a golf course and the scenic town of Portmahomack are highlights.

Comfort had varied feedback. While some guests found the beds comfortable and the cottage relaxing, others experienced discomfort with the beds and living room chairs.

Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and enclosed garden. The hot tub is a popular feature, though its distance from the cottage and maintenance were concerns for some.

Thoughtfulness is evident in the welcoming gestures of tea, coffee, milk, and shortbread provided by the hosts. However, it should be noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

We found the cottage very cold and unwelcoming. Beds were uncomfortable. Bed linen was far below standard ( duvets needed to be of a warmer weight)Hot tub was good but to far away from the cotrage to use comfortably.location was very good. Left early due to the house being so cold.Sorry for the grumble but expected much more

As beautiful as the location of this cottage is and the property its self is very nice, i am afraid the cleanliness of the facilities severely let it down. I had to clean the shower before i could use it and there was no mop or buckets to wipe the floors down which when you are travelling with a dog is a basic need to keep things clean. 1 jay cloth and a small sponge and some basic kitchen cleaner were all the available cleaning items to clean both the kitchen and the bathroom / toilet. The soft furnishings were also very dated, worn and not the cleanest. I also was unfortunate enough to have mice droppings in the kitchen cupboard, which were reported to the owner of the property who came in and put down mice traps, and promptly caught a mouse that evening. It was still in the trap in the cupboard when I left the property a day and a half later.
