The setting is outstanding. From the croft, from your hut, looking out the window, you can see hills, mountains, forest, glens and even the sea. It’s honestly an amazing place to be. You’ll have a great time at the Woodside Huts.. 3 steps to entrance.

Private parking for 1 car. No smoking.. Woodside Huts are fantastic places to stay in the Highlands. Situated in the Heights of Inchvannie near to the Victorian spa town of Strathpeffer. From the little plateau where the huts are set there are incredible views to enjoy. You really have it all in one panorama from each of the Woodside Huts: strath and glen, Highland Forest, towering mountains, attractive town, golf course, river and the sea.
The huts are set on a working farm, an 18-acre croft. You will pass through the farmyard and cruise by sheep, chickens and ducks as you make your way to the parking area for your hut. The animals will be within view the entire time of the holiday and you’ll be pleased to hear that some wonderful produce is delivered to your door in the form of a welcome pack. At certain times of the year this will include croft honey as there’s a hive nearby – it’s delicious and benefits from the wildflower meadow that takes up part of the hillside behind the huts.
The huts themselves are beautifully finished. Outside each hut there’s a seating area with a firepit and a raised deck to the side of the property with two bespoke single hot tubs set within the decking.
From this location you can explore in every direction and most places in the northern highlands are at most a daytrip away. The Black Isle is within view of the huts beyond the Cromarty Firth and offers so much for explorers. The nearby NC500 will lead you up the east coast or across to the west coast. You can be up at John O’Groats in a couple of hours if you wish and at the Skye Bridge in just under ninety minutes. Woodside Huts are close to everywhere up in the far north – it’s an excellent place to base yourself!

This little hut is perfect for a few days away with beautiful views! The interior design of the hut has had a lot of thought put in to itevery small space is used so well. The kitchen area has everything one needs, and the instant hot water in the shower is a nice touch. The heated floors are also a wonderful detail! The surroundings make you feel like youre in a painting, just perfection, especially at night when the sky is clear. So serene!

A suite at the ritz it isn’t - however, what’s not to love about staying in this tiny but cozy and comfortable Shepherds Hut?What’s more, the Scottish countryside is literately right on your doorstep! The door opens to an expansive view of Highland Cattle grazing on green fields, baying sheep, red kites flying above, and a background of gorse and tree clad hills on the opposite side of the valley! The hut lacks for nothing; all basic needs are catered for inside, including WiFi. Even though the hut was one of three (in a row), they were far enough apart to not feel intrusive due to carefully planted willow hedging and split bamboo fencing. And, we did fulfil our promise to have a hot bubble bath under the stars whilst sipping some fizz next to a lit fire pit - by the way, we weren’t totally in the dark as festoon lighting is thoughtfully hung above. The owner is friendly, helpful and will leave you to it, but always on the end of the phone in case of any needs.Note, there is no TV, but as a get away from it all destination, see what the locals have to offer or read a good book or two to unwind! (PS, we did bring our I-Pad). There are lots an interesting places to visit and great walks to be had in the forests and hills. We even took a day return train journey to Kyle of Lochalsh (on the West coast)! The scenery was truly stunning!!🤩
