About this property

Located in the Highland spa town of Strathpeffer is East Wing, a well-positioned, single-storey cottage. Within walking distance to a selection of shops and eateries, whilst well-appointed with an open-plan living space and private garden, East Wing offers a delightful base for a couple, looking to explore the coast and countryside. Park up off-road and ascend the steps up to your new dwelling with your belongings in tow. Be greeted by the living space, where you can unwind upon the plush, corner sofa with the Smart TV for entertainment, and rustle up delicious meals in the well-equipped kitchen, before setting the picnic bench. The garden is mature and private, offering the ideal space to relax, bask in your surroundings, and dine alfresco, with a glass of your favourite tipple in hand. After a busy day of exploring, complete your nightly routine in the bathroom, before sloping off to sleep in the double bedroom. Come morning, head into Strathpeffer for the necessities and to dine out, where you'll also locate the Highland Museum of Childhood and the Touchstone Maze, guiding you towards the shallow waters of Loch Ussie; outdoor enthusiasts will also enjoy discovering the Rogie Falls and following the Contin Forest Walk trail. Enveloping the area, you'll discover plenty of beauty spots to add to your itinerary, including Loch Achility, the Falls of Orrin, and Ben Wyvis National Nature Reserve, all worth packing your walking boots for, whilst Inverness can be reached by car, home to the Inverness Cathedral, Merkinch Local Nature Reserve, and Ness Islands garden, all recommended to visit. Whisk your loved one away to East Wing.

Often compared to a Bavarian Mountain resort, the picturesque spa village of Strathpeffer owes its growth to the discovery of water springs during the 1700s, and was declared in 1819 to be the healthiest drinking water in Britain! The original Spa Pavilion has been magnificently restored after a period of disuse and now serves as a venue for a variety of events, including concerts, dances, dramas and exhibitions. The former Victorian railway station, which in times past brought many visitors from near and far, has now been beautifully restored to house craft workers and their shops, and is also home to the Highland Museum of Childhood. Visit the restored Pump house (also a Tourist Information point), take a walk along a forest track, or enjoy the views from the nearby pictish hill fort at Knockfarrel. Whatever you decide there's plenty on offer for all the family.
