Over 200 years old, this traditional stone bothan has been lovingly and tastefully renovated to create a warm, characterful retreat that perfectly blends heritage charm with modern comfort. Ideal for couples seeking peace, scenery and a touch of Highland romance, it offers an unforgettable stay in one of Skye’s most captivating landscapes.
At the heart of the cottage is a bright kitchen diner with dual-aspect windows framing sweeping views across the sea towards the Outer Isles and Waternish Head. Whether enjoying a leisurely breakfast or a candlelit supper, guests are treated to ever-changing coastal light and dramatic sunsets. The cosy lounge is equally inviting, with comfortable seating, sea views from the window and a wood-burning stove that makes evenings especially atmospheric after a day exploring the island.
The tranquil bedroom features a king-size bed and looks out over the garden towards the sea, offering a restful space to unwind to the sound of distant waves. A contemporary shower room provides modern convenience while complementing the cottage’s traditional character. Outside,there is decking to the front and the side of the house enabling you to get the best views, there is a garden shed to store bikes, making it an excellent base for active visitors.
The surrounding area is rich in natural beauty and adventure. Just minutes away lies the enchanting Fairy Glen, a landscape of miniature hills and winding paths steeped in folklore. A little further afield, the famous Fairy Pools offer crystal-clear waters beneath the Cuillin mountains. History lovers can explore Dunvegan Castle, seat of Clan MacLeod, while Neist Point Lighthouse rewards walkers with spectacular cliff-top views. Dinosaur footprints at nearby Staffin Bay provide a fascinating glimpse into Skye’s ancient past. With coastal walks, climbing, wildlife spotting and endless horizons. Around Skye there are wonderful restaurants, 2 with Michelin Stars. Bothan Aonghais is the perfect base for discovering the magic of Skye.
