About this property

This pretty wooden clad cottage is tucked away into the village of Strathconon, approached by a scenic single track road, approximately 12 miles from the heart of Marybank. The breath-taking drive follows the riverside through pine and mature woodland, opening to a valley with wildlife in abundance. This one storey detached retreat invites you inside via the enclosed lawn and collection of shrubs, to set the tone for 3 Strathanmore Cottages. The interior comprises of two wonderful bedrooms, including a front-facing double suite, and a twin bedroom, each with dual aspect, and a homely feel, to promote a good night's sleep. Discover the country cottage kitchen and charm-filled dining room where you can settle down with your loved ones and admire the lovely outlook over the valley. The lounge is just as inviting, a delightful haven to make the most of your downtime, with the warmth of the woodburning stove to elevate those cooler evenings. A classic family bathroom finishes the properties interior to a standard of quality, and there is a vestibule area provided for coats and boots to be left. Stroll outside to the enclosed garden with mature flower borders, or spend an hour or two in the rear garden with raised beds and a decked platform, with views leaning towards the hills and valley, with herds of grazing red deer on the other side of the fence. The location is ideally placed for day trips to both the east and west coasts and fabulous beaches are just waiting to be uncovered. On the Black Isle you can visit the local organic Black Isle Brewery. The fishing and ferry port of Ullapool is well worth the visit, while Gairloch and the west coast offer views to the Isle of Skye, Harris and Lewis from beautiful white sand beaches. Whale and dolphin cruises are available from the pier in Gairloch, a beautiful part of the country.

The village is well-suited for bird watchers; in the location there are peregrine falcon, red kite, golden eagle, green woodpecker, siskins and treecreepers. From Inverness harbour there are boat trips on the Moray Firth to see one of the local dolphin pods, if you are in Rosemarkie you can also look out from the point as that is a good dolphin spotting area. The closest public swimming pools are in Dingwall and Inverness.
