The gate lodge was great. Decor a bit tired but comfortable and well equipped. Hosts were excellent , had an issue with a can opener and was replaced straight away. . Location was good. Nearby shops were friendly and helpful. Garden was excellent for our three dogs secure and plenty space for them to run around. A great base to explore the north east and north coast. Only down point was a noisy radiator (air lock ) I think. Didn’t report as we were leaving the next day. . Would stay there again if in that area for a holiday. Overall 4-5 star . A big thank you to the hosts.
