The Strath Oykel is a wide, green and fertile valley dominating the landscape in this wild but very beautiful part of the Northern Highlands. The property also sits in the heart of the NC500 route. The River Oykel, known for salmon fishing, rises in the mountains near Ullapool on the west and drains into the North Sea via the Kyle of Sutherland on the east, and is situated just a stone s throw from the property. Munro baggers have both Ben More Assynt and Conival nearby to climb, and a visit to the Falls of Shin to watch the leaping salmon is a must. Day trips to the likes of Ullapool, Gairloch and Achiltibuie on the West Coast are certainly possible, where you will find plentiful white sandy beaches. Enter through the front door of the annexe into a small hallway, that leads off to an ample sized lounge/dining area that seats four people, which has been tastefully decorated. The lounge contains a Smart TV with Sky TV, DVD and cosy wood burner. The kitchen is accessed from the lounge where there is an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge with ice compartment. There is a washing machine in the hall cupboard. The bathroom with shower over bath and WC contains quirky fish themed wallpaper, in keeping with the strong fishing association of this property s location. Walk up the stairs to the first floor, where you ll find it has been lovingly stripped and painted to give a rustic feel to the interior, and you will also find both bedrooms. The king size bedroom has been stylishly decorated with the same colours as the lounge downstairs and has the added benefit of an en suite shower room with a shower and WC. The twin bedroom has been similarly decorated and contains two full size single beds. The outside garden space consists of a large patio area with garden furniture and is completely enclosed. There is enough parking for two cars outside of the garden. Please note that this property is located on a working farm, therefore various animals including chickens and peacocks will be roaming around outside the garden, there are also Highland cows on the farm that are available to meet and pet. Please note the access to the property is along a farm track but has been recently refurbished. Need to know: 2 bedrooms 1 king size, 1 twin. 2 bathrooms 1 bathroom with shower over bath with WC, 1 en suite shower room with shower and WC. Access to the property is via a farm track which has been recently refurbished with Type 1 road material (approx. 1.5 miles long). There is alternative access via the main road where you can park by the river and walk to the property via a footbridge 250 meter walk. Owner is happy to pick you and your luggage up or just take your luggage to the property.. Please note that this property is located on a farm where animals such as goats, chickens and peacocks roam outside the garden. Shop, restaurants and cafe 4.5 miles, pub 14 miles.
